As his divorce case resonated in the court system, Doherty alleged that Iswarienko was waiting until she died to avoid paying child support, the late actress said People in June.

The former Beverly Hills 90210 actress died on Saturday after a years-long battle with breast cancer. She was 53 years old.

Now The US Sun has learned that Doherty died owing a fortune to financial institutions and more than a quarter of a million dollars in legal fees.

Doherty was going through a messy split with her ex-boyfriend, which had been dragging through the courts since April 2023.

The actress asked a judge for $15,434 a month, but Iswarienko seemed to be struggling.

Less than a year before her death, Doherty was forced to take out a massive $3 million home loan on her Malibu property with ClearEdge Lending LLC in December 2023, according to documents.

ClearEdge Lending offers non-qualified mortgages to people who don’t typically meet traditional home loan requirements, according to its website.

Doherty revealed in court filings that “it simply wasn’t right that Kurt was allowed to prolong our divorce in the hopes that I would die before he was forced to pay me, while continuing to live his life and shirking his responsibilities to his dying wife of over 11 years.”

Records show Doherty was struggling financially.

DOHERTY’S FINANCIAL STRUGGLE

Her only asset was brick and mortar, with her Malibu house reportedly worth $6 million.

Over the past three years, the actress has earned $21,642 a month through her company, Shando Productions Inc, financial records obtained by The US Sun show.

However, his expenses were $53,080 per month, a deficit of $31,438.

Doherty was a big spender, paying his divorce lawyer $99,430, according to the documents.

But the actress still owed an additional $170,635.

Other expenses included a $19,375-a-month mortgage and interest-only repayments of $731 on a $150,000 charge from the Small Business Administration.

In 2018, Doherty took out another home loan worth $2.8 million.

The monthly interest rate on that loan spiked last August by 3.25%, according to financial documents.

Meanwhile, Doherty also had monthly bills, including $3,590 in property taxes, $4,103 in home maintenance and $1,548 in utilities.

It is unclear why Doherty paid the $3 million domestic charge in advance.

The day before her death, Doherty filed for divorce from Iswarienko and ended her child support order.

“This matter is proceeding as an uncontested action,” the lawsuit said.

Doherty waived her right to spousal support, previously a focal point in her contentious divorce.

“I knowingly renounce forever any right to receive support from my spouse or partner,” said the document signed by the actress.

It further stated that both parties were asking the court to end any support for either of them.

Shannen Doherty’s Cancer Battle

  • In 2015, Shannen revealed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent chemotherapy, radiation therapy, a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery.
  • Two years later, the actress said she was in remission.
  • In 2020, Shannen revealed that her cancer had returned at stage 4.
  • In early 2023, Shannen underwent surgery to remove a tumor from her head after the cancer spread to her brain.
  • In November 2023, the actress revealed that the cancer had spread to her bones.

DIVORCE FINALIZED

The US Sun confirmed on Tuesday that Doherty was officially granted a posthumous divorce this week.

In the final judgment filed and signed by a judge on Monday, she and Kurt were “restored to single status,” while the actress is discussed in the past tense throughout the proceedings.

Attached to the sentence was the couple’s agreement.

She received the couple’s marital home in Malibu, California, and all of the artwork, furniture, and accessories within it.

The Beverly Hills 90210 star also received several automobiles, including a 1979 Ford pickup truck, a 2007 Range Rover and a 2019 Range Rover.

She was awarded a painting by Salvador Dali.

The Charmed star also received royalties from Kurt’s photography business, including half of the licensing fees from the sale of photos and videos taken while they were married, which did not fall under “work for hire” jobs.

SHANNEN’S POSTHOUM VICTORY

Shannen is also stopping Kurt from “exploiting” his image after his death.

The sentence said: “Any and all photographs of [Shannen] who are now in [Kurt’s] possession, regardless of when said photographs were created by [Kurt]will be removed from the Respondent’s website immediately.

“[Kurt] will supervise the removal of said photographs from the websites of any and all of its representatives, including its agents.

“[Kurt] it will be prohibited to exploit photographs of [Shannen]”, declared the sentence.

She also received 100% of several accounts, including her SAG pension plan.
