Valerie appeared to go public with her new boyfriend, but fans thought he was a security guard.
The cookbook author wore a form-fitting green satin dress that she covered with an oversized black jacket.
Her brown hair was lightly styled and she completed her look with her iconic thick-rimmed black glasses.
She walked in the rain as a staff member covered her with an umbrella.
Another man, whose name has not yet been identified, stood slightly behind her as she walked down the street.
He wore a nondescript casual outfit that appeared to be a security guard.
Valerie’s alleged boyfriend wore green camouflage pants with a black zip-up jacket.
He also wore a baseball cap and black sneakers.
Valerie didn’t seem to interact with him much and the two walked at a distance for most of the walk.
One eagle-eyed fan, however, snapped a photo of the man placing his hand on Valerie’s back.
They uploaded the photo via Instagram Threads and captioned the post “Hiding in plain sight.”
“I have no idea who the security guard is, but you look great,” they added.
Valerie split from her ex-husband Tom Vitale in 2022 after a decade together.
The star has since found a new man but has remained private.
Valerie was open about finding love after her divorce from Tom, but preferred to keep his identity private.

In an interview with USA todayshe revealed that she did not plan to enter into a new relationship and initially decided to remain single.
“He wasn’t on my radar. I would die with my six cats and my dog and I would be incredibly happy doing it. So this came out of nowhere, and I’m grateful for it. He’s very special,” she said.
