Although fans have waited nearly 20 years for the Hocus Pocus sequel to be made, they probably won’t have to wait that long for a third film.

Speaking with ExtraBette Midler has hinted at the possibility of another film.

“Can we see you pick up the broom again?” asked presenter Mona Kosar Abdi.

Bette responded eagerly, “Oh, please let me! Please! Could you please?”

She revealed that “there are serious talks” about another film.

“The studio was very happy with what was broadcast,” she said.

“It broke all their records, so they were thrilled.”

She continued, “It’s like wearing an old favorite dress, you know? It means a lot to all three of us, it really does.”

Bette reprized her role as Winifred Sanderson in Hocus Pocus 2, which was released on September 30, 2022, on Disney+.

The original film premiered two decades earlier in 1993 and has become a Halloween movie staple ever since.

SERIOUS ABOUT BUSINESS

When it comes to business conversations, Bette has become a woman of her word.

In May, Bette appeared on David Duchovny’s show Fair Better Podcastreflecting on some of his failures in his career.

Bette admitted that she would like to be a little more “assertive” in the early days of her career.

Specifically, the 78-year-old actress talked about her 2000 sitcom, Bette.

Rising star at the time, Lindsay Lohan, was set to play Bette’s daughter before she dropped out at the last minute.

Bette Midler’s career

Over the years, Bette Midler has become a household name in both the entertainment and music industries. Let’s take a look at some of Bette’s hit movies and TV series:

1988 – Beaches

1993 – Hocus Pocus

1993 – Gypsy

1996 – First Wives Club

2004 – The Stepford Wives

2008 – The Women

Bette revealed that she would have “sued” the 14-year-old for giving up so soon.

“Lindsay Lohan was cast as my daughter in the pilot,” Bette revealed.

“Well, after the pilot, Lindsay Lohan decided she didn’t want to do it, or she had other fish to fry. So Lindsay Lohan left the building — and I said, ‘Well, now what do you do?’

She continued, “If I had known that part of my duties was to stand up and say, ‘This is absolutely not going to work, I’m going to sue,’ then I would have done that.”

While Lindsay didn’t respond to Bette’s comments, the Mean Girls actress posted a throwback Photograph of the two during the pilot episode.

The caption read: “I had so much fun filming with the amazing @bettemidler #tbt.”
