JUSTIN Timberlake’s friend allegedly confronted and questioned police officers moments before the singer was arrested for DWI last month.

The friend who fled after Justin was arrested was not “properly evaluated” by authorities, according to TMZ.

Last month, Justin Timberlake was arrested for drunk driving in Sag Harbor, Long Island.

Moments before his arrest, a woman in the vehicle was reportedly allowed to take the car back to her home.

Sources told the outlet that the woman got out of the car and asked the officer, “Are you going to arrest Justin Timberlake?”

She offered to take Justin back to their house; however, the officers refused and Justin was eventually arrested.

Shortly after, the woman reportedly chose to take Justin’s rental car back to her home, but officers were unable to verify that she was safe to drive.

The source told TMZ that the woman was also drinking, but the officers present let her get behind the wheel anyway.

Justin’s lawyer, Ed Burke Jr., will reportedly use this instance to try to dismiss the singer’s case, claiming the cops were in the wrong.

JUSTIN’S CASE

The former *NSYNC member’s case was heard last week and is expected to be postponed until Friday, August 2.

Ed gave a statement to The US Sun about the case, claiming that Justin “was not intoxicated” at the time of his arrest.

“The most important fact to know about this case is that Justin was not intoxicated and should not have been arrested for DWI.

“The police made a series of very significant errors in this case.”

He continued: “In court today, you heard the district attorney try to right one of those wrongs.

“But this is just one and there are many others. Sometimes police make mistakes and this is just one of those cases.”

Ed went on to say that Justin respects the law and has respected the entire process since his arrest.

He concluded his statement by saying, “But the fact remains: he was not drunk and they made a mistake in arresting him for that. We are confident that his charge will be dismissed.”

Moments after Ed made his statement, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office responded.

Justin’s attorney has represented a range of notable names in the east.

In 2015, the attorney represented pre-#MeToo-era Matt Lauer in his fight with his Water Mill neighbors to plant trees along his property in an effort to combat noise from adjacent properties that spooked his horses.

In 2017, Ed represented Harvey Weinstein in a fender bender incident in a parking lot in the Hamptons, where the disgraced movie mogul allegedly tried to flee.

In 2001, he represented Lizzie Grubman, a nightlife publicist whose car crashed into a crowd of 16 outside a Hamptons club, before fleeing the scene.

The statement highlighted that “they located a ministerial error in the original accusatory instrument” and corrected it.

“The facts and circumstances of the case have not been changed or changed,” the statement said.

“Mr. Timberlake is scheduled to be arraigned under the amended indictment…through a virtual appearance in Sag Harbor Village Justice Court.”

They concluded their statement with: “We stand ready to litigate the facts underlying this case in court, not in the press.”

Despite his lawsuit, Justin continues his pop star duties as he is currently on his Forget Tomorrow tour.
