KATY Perry has been living it up on the beaches of Spain after receiving mixed reactions to the release of her latest single.
The pop singer, who released her new song Woman’s World on July 11, was seen enjoying her time in Ibiza, Spain, over the weekend.
Katy, 39, showed off her fit figure in an animal print thong bikini that left little to the imagination.
The Firework hitmaker looked like she was having fun as she filmed a music video in the skimpy suit, perfectly showing off her toned abs and behind.
The photos showed Katy standing in the sea, walking along the beach and posing on a boat while filming scenes for the project.
One showed the former American Idol judge modeling with her hands in her hair as a photographer took her photo.
In another photo, Katy looked like she was having a blast as she took to the water in a yellow and red kayak.
A group of shirtless men were seen pushing the kayak as she held a paddle over her head and appeared to scream in excitement.
Katy, who shares a 3-year-old daughter with Orlando Bloom, was also seen enjoying a slice of watermelon while standing with one arm above her head once again.
To complete the glamorous look for the shoot, Katy opted for a fishnet dress in some of the photos, which still allowed a view of her bikini.
She also accessorized with a thick belt, white-framed sunglasses, a few necklaces, and a bold red lipstick.
SUMMER COMES BACK
Katy’s performance in Spain comes just weeks after she released her comeback single, Woman’s World.
Prior to its anticipated release, Katy faced backlash from some critics who did not agree with the song’s producer.
Katy worked with producer Dr. Luke on the song, which is centered around the idea of female empowerment.
In late June, the mother of one shared a teaser of the new song on Instagram, where some commented.

“Female empowerment song produced by a man with a LONG history of using and abusing young women… haha,” one wrote.
“The irony of having a song praising women, but you’re working with Dr. Luke? Katy Perry, I didn’t expect this from you,” wrote a second.
Luke was previously accused of sexually assaulting singer Kesha, and they settled the lawsuit in 2023 after years of legal battles.
In addition to the team associated with the single, Katy also received criticism about the song in general.
“I was rooting for Katy, but these lyrics are so outdated they’re fodder for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign. It’s over,” someone wrote.
“Katy Perry’s new excerpt is the worst thing I’ve ever heard,” another criticized X.
The Dark Horse hitmaker received even more backlash after releasing the song, with one listener even calling it “a parody of feminism gone wrong.”
“This is what a feminist music video would look like if it was made by a guy,” said another.
CLEANING THE AIR?
Shortly after, Katy shared a video on Instagram as she and her backup dancers filmed Woman’s World.
She was heard sarcastically shouting the phrases: “Boss girl, shit,” “You can do it,” “Go girl,” and “You were born to shine.”
Katy then explained that she and the director were being very “sarcastic” and “having a little fun” with the video.
“It’s very slapstick and very exaggerated,” added the singer.
“With this ensemble, it’s like, ‘Ooh, we’re not about the male gaze, but we’re really about the male gaze,’” she explained as she and her dancers were dressed as construction workers.
“And we’re really overreacting and overreacting.”
While Katy may be trying to convey the meaning behind the look, some critics still aren’t on board.
“Imagine having to explain your obvious view to viewers,” one person wrote.
“Satirical? She’s trying to pick the straw after the backlash,” believed another.
