COUNTRY music star Megan Moroney opened up about her love life during an episode of Call Her Daddy, confirming rumors that she had dated the controversial country singer.
While discussing past affairs and toxic relationships with CHD host Alex Cooper, Megan revealed how she met Morgan and why their romance ran its course.

On Wednesday, Alex Cooper released the latest episode of Call Her Daddy.
The episode, titled Cheating, Cowgirls, & Chaos, featured guest Megan Moroney.
Megan opened up about her rise to fame and finally revealed what happened between her and Morgan Wallen.
About 30 minutes into the episode, Alex abruptly turns to Megan for the details.

I HOPE YOU’RE HAPPY
“Okay, so Megan,” she said, pausing for dramatic effect.
“Did you date Morgan Wallen?” she asked.
“Never exclusively,” Megan replied, just before the pair burst into laughter.
“And goodbye,” Alex said jokingly, acting as if the interview was over.
“What a scene,” Megan said, before adding, “Oh my God, thank you so much, it was so much fun.”
She then stood up slightly from her chair, pretending like she was going to get up and leave.
“And goodbye everyone,” Alex said, turning to Megan and adding, “Let’s talk off camera.”
The pair continued to laugh before resuming their conversation.
“Okay, interesting, so not exclusively,” Alex said, shaking his head.
“I think it was obvious, and that’s why I appreciate you being honest, because I feel like everyone knows,” Alex continued.
Morgan Wallen Legal Issues and Controversies
The country singer has faced several public backlashes and arrests over the years.
- 2016: Wallen was charged with DUI, but the case was later dropped.
- May 23, 2020: He was kicked out of a Nashville bar and later arrested and charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
- October 2020: A video of Wallen breaking up and kissing girls without a mask during the Alabama lockdown surfaced online.
- October 7, 2020: His SNL debut was canceled due to the video and he later released an apology video on Instagram.
- February 2, 2021: A video of Wallen referring to his friend using the N-word was shared online.

It’s no surprise that two of the biggest names in country music were, at one point, romantically involved.
“I tried so hard to avoid this [question] in every interview I’ve ever done,” Megan replied.
“But you’re here now,” Alex said, continuing to laugh.
“But we’re here now, time has passed and everything is still fine,” Megan said.
Alex then asked the question Megan’s fans were desperate to know if her hit song Tennessee Orange was, in fact, about Morgan.
“I will never say who my songs are about,” Megan said, before adding, “well, I will never name names.”
HE FEELS AT HOME
Megan Moroney and Morgan Wallen first sparked dating rumors following the release of Megan’s hit single Tennessee Orange in September 2021.
Fans were quick to point out several references to Wallen in the song’s lyrics, starting with, “I met someone and he has blue eyes.”
The song’s lyrics also confirmed that Megan’s new boyfriend was not from her hometown of Savannah, Georgia, “He’s not where we’re from.”
Morgan was born and raised in Sneedville, Tennessee, and sold his Nashville home in 2021 following the release of a controversial video filmed in his garage.
“In Georgia they call it sin / I’m wearing Tennessee orange for him,” Megan sings.
Megan also addressed the rumors while promoting her song, confirming that she was wearing Morgan’s Tennessee Volunteers jersey in an Instagram photo.
“You know I wouldn’t keep you waiting… TENNESSEE ORANGE COMES OUT NEXT FRIDAY,” she subtitled the August 24, 2022 post, alongside an orange heart emoji.
When asked if Morgan had any songs about her, Megan shrugged.
“I have no idea,” she replied.
“Lies, lies, lies,” Alex replied.
Alex wasn’t just dismissing Megan’s response — she was likely referring to Morgan’s latest hit single, Lies Lies Lies.

Hard habits and sorrows
“Lies, lies, lies / Look into my eyes, eyes, eyes / I’m still a fool for you,” sings Morgan, about what many fans believe is Megan.
Alex then asks Megan why the pair called it quits.
“Okay, so it was never a relationship,” Megan responded, adding, “But here’s what I’m going to tell you.”
“I’ve never told anyone this,” she added, as Alex’s eyes widened.
“So he and I met in 2020, Jon Langston actually introduced us,” she said.
Jon Langston is another country artist, known for his breakthrough EP, Showtime.
“So I was a senior in college, Covid hadn’t happened yet, her album Dangerous hadn’t even come out yet,” she continued.
Morgan released his second studio album, Dangerous: The Double Album, on January 8, 2021.
“We were friends for a long time, so we weren’t just friends and now we’re friends,” Megan said.
“So you guys had a little something?” Alex questioned.
“Yeah, no, we’ve never officially dated,” Megan replied, before turning her head to the side, smiling slightly.
“But like we said, Megan, these might be the worst,” Alex added.
“Yes, I will say if anyone is overly sensitive… they’re going to get their heart broken, it’s me,” Megan said.
“How did you keep something like this, so private?” Alex asked.
“I feel like it wasn’t that difficult… I feel like he’s a very private person,” Megan responded.
“Like I said, we’ve never been dating exclusively, and I think our schedules… like we’re crazy…” Megan said.
“When we try to go out, it’s okay, we have one day a whole month where maybe we’re both in town…” she continued, trailing off.
“But he and I are friends,” Megan said, shaking her head.
“Honestly, because he’s such a private person, it’s weird talking about it,” she added.
I AM FINE?
Alex then asked another important question that remained on everyone’s mind – whether Megan was currently in a relationship.
“I’m so single right now,” Megan responded, laughing.
“I love it, I sleep so well. Nobody’s baby is stressing me out. I’m in REM sleep every night,” she continued.
“All my free time is spent with my friends and I get to enjoy the moment,” Megan added.
“Like I said, I’m very sensitive and when I date someone, if we’re having problems or something like that, it really affects me.”
Megan then talked about balancing her emotions while performing in front of her fans.
“I have a song called Hell of a Show, and it was very difficult, I literally cried before going on stage, I played [the song]and then I would cry myself to sleep,” she revealed.
“Keep control, I can keep control / To the room full of people here who love me more,” Megan sings, referring to the “show” she puts on while performing.
“Cause I’m going to smile and I’m going to sing and I’m going to wave and repeat / And tonight I’m going to cry myself to sleep,” she sings, echoing her previous statement.
“This was really hard for me,” she added, referring to her past relationships.
“And I’m much happier single, at least for now,” she continued.
Although she’s not looking for anyone new at the moment, Alex wasn’t going to let Megan walk away without asking a few more questions – including what qualities she looks for in a potential boyfriend.
“Personality-wise, I love it when someone can match my mood,” Megan revealed.
“I realized with my last boyfriend that humor is very important to me,” she continued, adding, “Humor is my weakness.”
Morgan may not be a comedian, but the singer has a funny way when it comes to some of his most controversial actions, including your public response following his arrest in Nashville in April.
