Carrie, 41, appeared on the show on Friday morning to introduce herself following the news that she was added to the American Idol judging panel.

She took the stage in tiny denim shorts, a white shirt and a bright, colorful jacket.

Her long blonde hair was styled in big bouncy curls and fell over her shoulders.

The Before He Cheats singer strutted onto the Good Morning America stage in knee-high denim boots.

During the performance, attentive fans noticed that the singer showed off her underwear, but continued to perform.

The shocking moment came when Carrie threw her head back while singing her song.

After the performance, fans gushed about Carrie online.

“Oooooo I just walked into my living room and caught @carrieunderwood on @GMA. Woohoooooo She’s a great artist and her vocals are unbeatable. Thanks for making my day GMA!” a fan posted.

“Can we take a second to appreciate this outfit?” another supporter asked, posting a photo of her on her X account.

After she shared the news, host Ryan Seacrest took to his Instagram feed to welcome her back.

The new Wheel of Fortune host posted two throwback photos of him and Carrie together.

The first photo is from her time as an American Idol contestant, while the second is from an appearance on the show.

In the first photo, the Somethin’ Bad singer is seen with her blonde hair tied up.

She is also wearing a multicolored dress with a deep V-neck.

Her hand covers her mouth in surprise as Ryan smiles beside her.

The second photo showed the duo holding microphones while on stage.

Carrie is wearing a light blue dress with a sheer tulle skirt over a shorter, tighter one.

“It’s a full circle moment, from announcing you as the winner of @americanidol 20 years ago to now welcoming you to the judges’ table. Welcome home, @carrieunderwood!” Ryan wrote.

Carrie responded in the comments, writing, “Thanks, Ryan! It’s exciting to come home!”

Fans were excited to see Ryan’s post, but also to see the musician join the show.

“IDOL kids have grown up! I love you both!!” celebrated a fan.

“I’m so excited for Carrie to be a judge. She knows exactly what these contestants are going through and this will bring a more personal interaction with everyone,” commented a second fan.

“She’s perfect for this!! Welcome home, Carrie. I’m also trying to figure out where the 20s went?!?!?!” pointed out a third American Idol viewer.

“OMG I remember watching her on Idol as a contestant and seeing her win!! I’m super happy for her!!” she praised a room.
