Maren, 34, opened up about her sexy new track, Push Me Over, in an interview with billboard.

She told the outlet all of this. the songs on her new EP, Intermission, are reflections of her real life.

Push Me Over is the EP’s most daring track and, according to Maren, it’s about her bisexuality.

The country singer collaborated on the track with the group Muna, whom she affectionately calls “the Teachers of Gay”.

Maren said she turned to them after her first date with a woman.

“I remember I went on a date with a girl and the date was amazing, but I had a lot of questions for Muna the next day,” she said.

“I really felt like a student and I was with Gay’s teachers. They were obviously very supportive and that made this song the easiest to write.”

Maren concluded, “It just lifts my spirits and I feel like I could only have written with them.”

The song includes lyrics like: “The necklace sits right on your collarbone / Makes me wonder / How your perfume smells on me later / Can you take control? Show me where to go / I haven’t been here before / No.” I don’t know what it is, but I like the taste.”

LEAVING

The Middle singer came out as bisexual in June, sharing the news on her Instagram feed.

She posted photos of herself performing at a Pride event with the caption, “Happy to be the B in LGBTQ+. Happy Pride.”

Fans in the comments showed their support for the star.

“Happy Pride, a true icon!” one supporter cheered.

“HAPPY PRIDE! Thank you for being an inspiration, and what a special pride this is!” a second gushed out.

“My favorite bicon. Happy Pride, angel!” a third fan posted.

“A fellow bicon! So much love for you!” a fourth person gushed.

“Happy Pride, you perfect human! I’m so proud of you,” one commenter wrote.

LETTING GO

Maren also appeared to write a song about her divorce from Ryan.

She divorced her husband in October 2023 after five years of marriage.

The pair cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split.

Her latest EP includes a song called How a Woman Leaves, which features lyrics like: “I won’t try to be your friend / All I want is for you to leave my heart, my head.

“That’s how a woman leaves.”

The song continues: “Even though it’s killing me / I’ll make it seem so easy / that even I believe in myself / Go ahead and look me in the eyes / Go ahead and tell me you’re surprised.”

It ends with a devastating line that states: “You have the nerve to ask why I’m not crying.

“I cried the entire time I lay next to you.”

Maren explained the meaning behind the song in an Instagram video on July 29, calling the collection a “break in the action” and the start of a “new chapter.”

“Calling this project Intermission was intentional,” she said.

“It’s obviously a lyric at the end of the song Cut!, but it also means there’s more to come.”

Maren released her first single, Cut!, in June.

“[Intermission is] a break from acting, and for me, it’s definitely a break from acting and a new chapter in my life, and I’m so ready to see what’s on the other page,” she continued in her Instagram video.

“I’m very proud of this song. It wasn’t easy to write because I’m going through a lot, and this is the diary of that.”

Maren also said that Intermission is a departure from her country music roots and is “the most fun song and also the most moving song” because it is her way of exploring her true feelings.

“I’m allowing myself to go there – because I don’t have to protect anyone anymore,” she said.
