TEEN Mom star Ryan Edwards has been left alone in his custody battle with his wife Mackenzie as his lawyer has resigned following the TV personality’s absence from his latest hearing.

US Sun can exclusively report that Ryan’s lawyer has withdrawn from the Teen Mom OG alum’s official counsel on July 22, 2024.

Court documents obtained by The US Sun state that Ryan, 36, has 30 days to get new counsel, or he will have to represent himself in his and Mackenzie’s custody war.

This happened after Ryan missed the hearing on June 8 despite his lawyer being present.

A Hamilton County General Sessions Court official confirmed to The US Sun that the hearing took place as scheduled, but Ryan did not appear.

“His lawyer was there, but he wasn’t,” a source close to the case exclusively revealed. “He wasted the court’s time.”

FIGHT FOR CHILDREN

Mackenzie, 27, currently has full custody of their two children, 5-year-old Jagger and 4-year-old Stella, and Ryan is requesting a 50/50 split.

However, the source claimed that Ryan is not helping his case as he rarely visits his children and only spends a few moments with them when he does.

Ryan previously stated that he regularly attended these visits, which took place at his mother’s house, until Mackenzie suddenly stopped bringing the children.

The TV star also shares a 15-year-old son, Bentley, with his ex, Maci Bookout, 32, with whom he appears to have mended his fractured relationship based on recent social media posts.

Maci even linked up with Ryan’s girlfriend, Amanda Connor, 33, on Monday’s episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, bringing the exes closer together.

But Ryan’s relationship with Mackenzie doesn’t seem to be on the same trajectory, as their divorce becomes increasingly complicated.

Mackenzie initially filed for divorce in February 2023 after the pair were involved in an explosive fight that left their Tennessee home completely destroyed.

A year later, they tried to resolve things in mediation, but the pair were unable to resolve the case.

The divorce was ultimately rejected after no further filings occurred within 270 days.

Ryan filed separate divorce proceedings in March 2024, which is still ongoing.

RYAN EDWARDS’ RELATIONSHIP STRUGGLES

Ryan Edwards and his ex-wife, Mackenzie, also went to court over their divorce and child custody:

Ryan is struggling Mackenzie28, while trying to divorce her.

Mackenzie filed for divorce from her husband in February 2023 after getting married in 2017.

The US Sun previously reported that the divorce was dismissed in February 2024 because there were no records in the case for 270 days.

Ryan then filed his own divorce case against his ex-wife.

According to a Tennessee court filing seen by The US Sun, Ryan filed for “divorce with minor child” in early March.

He also presented a proposal for a permanent parenting plan.

Ryan requested to be the “designated primary residential parent” of their two children and “that child support be awarded out of Mackenzie’s income.”

The US Sun also reported that Mackenzie filed an order of protection against Ryan on March 28, 2023.

The order asked Ryan to have no contact and stay away from her.

In early April 2024, a hearing was held and both parties agreed to a mutual restraining order.

In the midst of it all, Ryan dealt with his own legal and substance abuse issues, taking him in and out of prison.

Ryan appeared to improve after completing a 28-day treatment program at a rehabilitation center following his stint at the Silverdale Detention Center in April 2023.

He has managed to stay out of trouble since his release and has been drug-free for over a year.

Fans recently praised Ryan for looking “healthy” in photos with his family and girlfriend after maintaining his sobriety.

The US Sun previously reported that Judge Gary Starnes also praised Ryan for turning his life around during a court hearing in April.

Ryan is due back in court for another check-in on November 18.
