THE VIEW has announced a hiatus and a major programming change with fans scrambling to let each other know about the news.
The long-running talk show featuring regulars Whoopi Goldberg, Alyssa Farah, Ana Navarro and more is expected to be off screens for a while.

Friday’s episode appeared to be pre-recorded, which left fans confused about where the beloved hosts went.
Viewers flocked to X, formerly Twitter, to speculate where the stars might be.
“Is it spring break on The View?”. asked a confused fan.
“Yes, pre-recorded today. They will be released next week. Like I said, I think because it will be Spring To break there,” replied another.
“Let me guess. This is the start of spring break and they couldn’t even finish the week for the viewers? Taped Fridays are getting old!” complained a third.
“So it’s not live! But I said sometimes they go on spring break around this time, wondering if it would be new, but my guide says it is,” a fourth concluded.
The View will leave television next week but will return on April 29.
This isn’t the first time The View has worried fans, with regular host Whoopi rumored to be retiring this year.
Fans have theorized that Whoopi will soon step down from her role as moderator and co-host, 16 years after Wednesday’s episode.
While taping the Wednesday, April 17 episode, Whoopi, 68, appeared to be “tired” during the daily 11 a.m. ET show, according to a source.
“Whoopi entered the room in sloppy pink overalls, a white shirt and clogs.
“She was very underdressed compared to the other hosts who were wearing dresses or pencil skirts,” the source exclusively told The US Sun.
In addition to her casual work attire — which is her regular attire — during the recording, she appeared “uninterested” in conversations and “not in an upbeat mood compared to others.”
“She was hunched over and sometimes rested her head in her hands,” the source continued.
The preview hosts
The View is an American talk show that airs on ABC from 11 am to 12 pm EST, Monday through Friday. It features a diverse group of women discussing the day’s “Hot Topics,” ranging from hard-hitting news to celebrity gossip. The six co-hosts include:
“After she finished reading her cards, she would tear them into pieces and hand them to a staff member, something the other co-hosts weren’t doing.”
The hosts discussed several topics on Wednesday, including the secret trial of Donald Trump that is currently underway in Manhattan Criminal Court in New York.
RETIREMENT RUMORS
Whoopi initiated the conversation, but let her other hosts Sara Haines, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa take over.
US Sun has reached out to ABC for comment.
Whoopi previously addressed retirement rumors in an exclusive interview with The US Sun in October 2023.
“I didn’t do anything other than retire. I’ve been retired my entire career, so I kind of like it,” she responded at the time.
“I have a contract. As long as I’m fulfilling the contract, no one will be mad.
“But I’ve been off on Fridays for years because when we normally did this, I would go to work and do shows or whatever because I could travel on Friday,” Whoopi continued.
