The star shared photos of himself on crutches, leading fans to wonder if he is okay.
Gio, 39, posed for a photo wearing a black t-shirt and blue gym shorts with crutches at his side.
He had a smile on his face, despite his right foot being wrapped in beige bandages.
“Well! I sprained my ankle yesterday and on that healing journey. [face palm emoji]. Hope to see you at @goodmorningamerica Saturday and Sunday (I may or may not be rocking it…TBD!)” he captioned the post.
GMA fans in the comments sent well wishes, while others asked questions about the injury.
“Gio, we REALLY have to get you to space – up there – without sprained ankles, and if you happen to have one, you don’t need crutches! Feel better!” one supporter wrote.
“Oh no! I hope it heals quickly! (A medical fact that a gorgeous cast helps things heal faster… listen Tommy!) xo,” a second fan posted.
“Get well soon, man!” urged a third commenter.
“Feel better with a speedy recovery,” wrote a fourth fan.
“Oh no, what happened!!!!!! oh ok, please get well soon!!!!!” demanded a concerned supporter.
“Eeeeeeeeek! I hope you’re okay!! What happened [sic] ?” asked a sixth commentator.
‘OPPORTUNITY TO ACCESSORIZE’
Gio seemed to be in good spirits despite his injury, and fans in the comments were having fun, making happy comments.
Gio’s husband, Tommy DiDario, commented, “I still don’t know why you won’t let me sign and dazzle your cast.”
Fans were thrilled with the comment and seemed to support the idea.
Good Morning America hosts
These are the hosts of ABC’s morning show Good Morning America:
“Oh no, G… I’m with T, go for the dazzle,” joked one fan.
“What?!?!?! Oh no… rest and let Tommy dazzle the cast!” he scoffed for a second.
“Oh no! I feel better if I was there, that cast would be blown away,” a third person posted.
“Sending healing vibes and you should let @tommydidario dazzle,” a fourth shared.
Someone joked that the injury is “another accessory opportunity.”
FILLING OUT
Gio is beloved by GMA viewers for many reasons, but among them is his close bond with his co-stars.
In January, he replaced Michael Strahan amid a family crisis for the former NFL star.
Michael stepped away from the show to focus on his daughter, Isabella, who was battling brain cancer.
Gio co-hosted the show alongside Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos.
He also replaced Michael on another show while the professional athlete was in California to film Fox NFL Sunday.
