THE VIEW audience got a special treat from the hosts during a recent taping – an intimate chat that wasn’t filmed for the show.

In an off-camera moment during the April 17 taping, the hosts, which included Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin, answered questions from the audience.

While the pre-recorded A Different World reunion was airing, the warm-up comic asked the hosts questions that the crowd had submitted, a source revealed to The US Sun.

“The hosts continued to have a long conversation with the audience, which was very up close and personal,” the source said.

The “raw” 30-minute conversation included topics about relationships, life struggles, career changes and even celebrity crushes.

One question was which special guest gave them goosebumps, according to the source, which caused the hosts to reveal their passions.

Although Alyssa and Sunny agreed it was actor Michael Douglas — he was on The View the day before — because of his “energy and charisma,” Joy and Whoopi said theirs were “dead.”

Sara said hers was Idris Elba and that she will always be a fan and will say his name when asked about her favorite guest.

Joy then mentioned Robert De Niro and called him “hot” and said that “there was nothing hotter than a 79-year-old man having a baby.”

The Oscar winner, who is actually 80 years old, welcomed daughter Gia with his girlfriend Tiffany Chen, 45, in April 2023.

Another hot topic was a 25-year-old woman who wasn’t sure if she should move to another state for a new job as she didn’t feel like she was being treated as fairly as men in her position.

“This thread prompted all the hosts to weigh in and share their opinions as they seemed concerned about the young adult,” the source shared with The US Sun.

“The presenters interacted with the audience for a good 10 minutes and started taking sides – her side or her mother’s side, who was sitting next to her.”

“The audience was shocked by how much the hosts invested in helping people and how much time they dedicated to giving advice,” the source continued.

Then someone wanted to know what they should do to fix their relationship after doing something wrong – but didn’t go into detail.

“Did he cheat?” Sunny questioned.

Since the person chose to remain anonymous, she said he should just “apologize and give her jewelry,” which made the audience laugh.

JOY CONFESSES

To end the questions and answers that “seemed endless”, Joy gave advice to a fan who questioned whether starting comedy at age 40 is too late.

The star admitted that it was at this age that she herself began to get into comedy.

She went on to say that her first show was really good, but later admitted that the second stand up show she did was a failure.

“Joy wasn’t afraid to admit that people threw popcorn at her during one of her stand up shows,” the source told The US Sun.

“She also said that this venue in the Catskills, New York, is famous for people just leaving because it’s a free venue, so she said she doesn’t like performing there.”

Most recently, Joy became a playwright and premiered her first comedy show, Bonkers in the Boroughs: Five Short Plays, in November 2023 in New York City.

TAKE A BREAK

After a long chat with The View hosts, the show ended with an interview with singer-songwriter Huey Lewis, who was there to promote his new Broadway play, The Heart of Rock and Roll.

The presenters returned to recording two episodes on Thursday, April 18, before taking a week-long break.

The Friday, April 19th episode was pre-recorded.

The View is on hiatus this week, but will return on Monday, April 29.

Fans have theorized that the hosts are on their own spring break.
