Before co-hosts: Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farrah-Griffith, Joy Behar, and Sunny Hostin were abruptly taken off the air, they discussed some trending topics.

About eight minutes into the US daytime TV show, a breaking news segment where President Joe Biden addressed the ongoing protests taking place on college campuses.

In the United States, students are calling for a ceasefire in the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza and for their schools to cut ties with Israel or companies that support the war.

These pro-Palestinian protests are taking place at schools such as UCLA, George Washington University, Columbia University, the University of Wisconsin and the University of Arizona.

About 15 minutes later, the show returned with special guest star Jeff Daniels.

On X, formerly Twitter, fans of The View were outraged by the interruption of breaking news.

‘WE REALLY DON’T NEED THIS’

One angry fan tweeted: “Seriously, ABC? Do we REALLY need you guys to join the show??

“I hate it when the news appears on a TV program, but I hate it even more when reporters explain to us what was said!

“Many of us have common sense and can understand what was said!”

A second asked: “Why do they always get interrupted???”

The View audience was shocked by the hosts getting ‘up close and personal’ with the audience in a ‘raw’ 30-minute off-camera conversation

“We really didn’t need that break in the schedule today,” pointed out a third.

This isn’t the first time fans have been outraged by an abrupt schedule change.

OUT WITH THE NEW, IN WITH THE OLD

Late last month, the co-hosts took some well-deserved time off for spring break.

From April 22 to April 28, ABC replayed old episodes.

The April 19 episode was pre-recorded.

Later this week, the usual hosts returned to their seats at the desk.

Meanwhile, at the time, fans were shocked by the lack of new episodes.

“What a job these women have. More vacation days than you can count. @theview #theview,” one fan wrote on X.

Another said: “I’ve seen this before [episode]. I’m going to do chores.”

“Oh. The View is a repeat,” commented a third.
