ROB Marciano’s colleagues at ABC News defended him after his firing.
The meteorologist was fired after reports emerged of his alleged inappropriate behavior.
A source said People that he and his colleagues found the news unexpected.
Rob, 55, reported on time away from the Good Morning America studios for more than a year after a colleague reported bad behavior from him.
People’s source also said the allegations circulating about his behavior were a “hit job.”
“Rob is always positive, down-to-earth and never anything but professional,” the source said.

“People like working with him and he’s not difficult to work with.”
They went on to say that Rob’s current colleagues felt it was “unbelievable that he was let go.”
“The Rob Marciano portrayed is not the Rob Marciano we know,” the source said.
The source said he never heard anything but praise for the meteorologist and his work ethic.
“Rob has always been nothing but professional. He really invests in his segments and cares a lot about the final product of his work”, they continued.
‘Such a nice guy’
More of Rob’s colleagues defended him in the post.
An editor who worked with him on weather segments said he was “such a nice guy.”
She also loved stopping by the editing room to check out the weather packages.
A former CNN colleague said her “heart hurt” when she saw how negatively Rob was being talked about.
“Rob is great. No one championed my career in that building more than him and no one took better care of the team on the field than him in my 10 years working there,” she said.
He was hardworking and kind to everyone. Many people in the news can be aggressive, scary or generally unpleasant, but Rob is not one of them. He’s a stand-up guy

“I had a lot of really bad encounters at CNN and with people who treated me really badly.”
The source went on to say that Rob was the one who listened to her and helped her.
If she needed him, he would be there and offer to talk about it over coffee.
Another source who worked with Rob called him “the nicest, most professional and respectful person I’ve ever worked with.”
“He was hardworking and kind to everyone. A lot of people in the news can be aggressive, or scary, or generally nasty, but Rob isn’t one of them,” she said, adding that he’s a stand-up guy.
MORNING CONFRONTATION
The news of Rob’s dismissal came on April 30th, after a year and a half without appearing in the studio.
A source for The New York Post Office said his departure would have to do with “anger management issues.”
Rob reported the weather on World New Tonight and GMA, both from outside the studios.
His last weather report was two days before he was fired.
Last March, Page six first reported that Rob was banned from the studios.
A source told the outlet that he made a colleague uncomfortable.
“It turned out that he did something inappropriate, but he was punished for it and they still haven’t let him return,” they said.
The exact incident between Rob and his colleague is unknown, but the source believes it was due to his anger management issues.
“He made people feel uncomfortable. There was a period when there were some problems, a series of alarming events,” the source added.
Although Rob received support from many of his former colleagues, Swetha Sharma, who worked with him, had a different perspective.
“He was nice, but that wasn’t everyone’s experience with him either,” she told People.
“There were always stories about him about his temper. No one who worked with him or witnessed his behavior was surprised by any of this.”
Rob became a senior meteorologist at ABC in July 2014 after working at CNN and Entertainment Tonight.
