TODAY guest host Jill Martin joked about her positive progress in her battle with breast cancer.
The presenter, who is now in recovery, updated fans on her condition.
Jill shared a inspirational morning message on your Instagram.
The 48-year-old looked like she had just woken up, sitting in pink pajamas under a blue robe.
She had a plentiful bedside affair, with her spiky blonde hair shooting out in different directions.
“People have been asking if my hair is growing back,” she said in the video. “Yeah. It’s just growing.”
Jill also joked in the caption, saying that her hair looked like a famous scene from the movie There’s Something About Mary.
“Name the movie of the character I look like,” she wrote in the caption. “Sometimes you just need to laugh.”
Then she dropped a clue in the form of a quote from star Cameron Diaz.
“Tip: ‘Do you have gel in your hair?’

While one person made a compliment – and a comparison.
“Jill, you are so beautiful and an amazing person. You remind me a little of Teresa Caputo, the medium, with your hair.”
JILL’S JOURNEY
Jill revealed her cancer diagnosis on air in July 2023.
In an interview with co-stars Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie, she shared the diagnosis.
Jill brought her doctor on set to talk more about her diagnosis and the steps she’d taken up to that point.
“It feels like an out-of-body experience,” Jill said after Hoda asked her to share her news with viewers.
“I was diagnosed with breast cancer. And it feels like someone else is telling this story. Six weeks ago, it happened very quickly,” she said emotionally.
Jill’s mammogram came back clear in January, but a doctor still told her to get a genetic test for breast cancer (BRCA) due to her family’s history with the disease.
“I took the test and it was positive,” she said.
“I was planning to have preventive surgery. That was my choice.”
When she went for tests before surgery, doctors discovered cancer.
ARRIVING HOME
Jill burst into tears as she said her grandmother died of breast cancer and her mother had a double mastectomy but is now healthy.
“What makes me the saddest is watching my parents see me go through this,” Jill admitted through tears.
“Jill, can we just say we love you so much. We can’t wait to see you on the other side of this,” Hoda said.
“You are full of optimism and hope, I know you are scared, but you know there is a family here waiting for you to return with open arms.”
“I feel devastated and sad and scared, but I feel empowered and strong,” Jill ended the segment.
Jill has had multiple surgeries and had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed.
She also had a lump removed from her breast and underwent reconstructive surgery.
