In the main edition of the Today program broadcast, Hoda Kotb revealed that Dylan Dreyer would ask Al to give the weather forecast.

As for Today Third Hour, Al was still nowhere to be seen at the anchor desk with the rest of his co-hosts – Dylan, Sheinelle Jones and Craig Melvin.

The day before, the beloved TV personality revealed on Instagram that her family was facing an emergency.

Al posted a series of sweet photos of him and his wife Deborah Roberts holding their dog Pepper.

The meteorologist wrapped the puppy in a blanket and cuddled her in his arms.

Deborah also held Pepper in one photo and played with her on the floor in another – although her photos showed the little dog with a cone around his head.

“Our little girl Pepper had emergency surgery but is recovering,” Al revealed in the caption. “She is receiving great care and is returning home tomorrow. Wow.”

“You can sleep in our bed as much as you want,” he added sweetly at the end.

Deborah shared similar photos on her own Instagram feed and said she felt “gratitude” and added: “My heart is exploding today.”

She explained that Pepper gave them “a huge scare” but survived the operation and is currently recovering.

The Good Morning America star added that her dog is a “strong girl” and asked fans for “any and all prayers.”

FAN LOVE

Al and Deborah’s social media followers were more than happy to oblige and send Pepper their well wishes.

“It’s so hard when they’re not okay,” one fan wrote. “Hoping she’s okay.”

“Hugs, treats and prayers for the pepper,” commented a second fan.

“Prayers being said for your fur baby,” said a third follower.

“Sending healing vibes to your pup, they are like our children,” another fan wrote to the TV personalities.

Along with her dog recovering from surgery, Deborah revealed on Monday that there was another reason her husband was absent from the Today show.

BUSY COUPLE

The ABC News personality shared that the pair were in Nashville, Tennessee at Fisk University to help give the commencement speech.

Deborah posted photos of them on campus, including one of them with a Doctor of Humane Letters certificate, which is an honorary degree.

“Monday mood… pure #joy,” Deborah captioned the post. “How exciting to be on the campus of historic @fiskuniversity to deliver the 150th commencement address to the class of 2024 along with @alroker.”

“Like he said, two for the price of one,” she continued. “Congratulations Dr. Agenia Clark on your first graduating class as president of this famous campus of higher education and activism.”

The 20/20 co-anchor ended the caption by referring to herself and Al as “Dr. Roberts and Dr.
