KELLY Clarkson has opened up about not being able to go on tour and focus on her music career because of her full-time TV job, The US Sun can exclusively reveal.
Kelly, 42, performed at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey on Friday, May 10, and Saturday, May 11.

The Breakaway singer literally took a break from her gig on The Kelly Clarkson Show in New York for a getaway to the Jersey Shore.
When Kelly took to the stage at around 8.20pm in a skin-tight black jumpsuit, she greeted the packed audience and revealed she was in a “weird mood”.
“I’m in a weird mood. I don’t know why. You should have seen me backstage. I was dancing like Kristen Wiig in [Saturday Night Live],” she said in a video of the show obtained exclusively by The US Sun.
“I don’t know what’s going on. I’m so happy to be doing a show! We’re doing a full show.”

She went on to say that normally she only gets to do two-minute songs as part of Kellyoke on her NBC daytime talk show.
“This is really cool. We don’t do shows that often, so thanks for stopping by,” she continued.
“First of all, we’re really, really excited to be doing a full show… Like I said, we don’t do this often.
“We did one, I think a few weeks ago, I don’t remember – time is hmm – but I had a really good time and I thought, ‘We should do a tour’, and then I thought, ‘Wait, I have kids and another job'” , referring to The Kelly Clarkson Show.
Kelly shares two children with her ex Brandon Blackstock: daughter River Rose, 9, and son Remington “Remy,” 8.
The couple, who were married from 2013 to 2020, are currently fighting in court over commissions he paid her as her manager while working for Starstruck.
SWEET ESCAPE
Later, Kelly opened up about her brief escape from New York while spending time in Atlantic City.
She had some downtime before and after each performance at Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena.
“I’m not going to lie. I think I found out this weekend… you know, I’m a single mom, so I usually go to work and then I come home to the kids,” Kelly began telling the crowd before saying, “Give up the single parents in general.”
She went on to say that her “most amazing nanny” – who is “like a second mother” – is looking after her kids for her and that her nanny’s mother was in the audience.
I thought, ‘We should go on tour,’ and then I thought, ‘Wait, I have kids and another job.’

Kelly has primary physical custody of her minor children with Brandon, while he continues to live in Montana and stay with the children one weekend a month.
“But what I was thinking is that I slept in late this morning. Last night [May 9]I was there to watch them go to bed and I arrived last night because it’s a short flight,” she continued.
“And then I watched a daytime show. I liked adult stuff without dogs or humans there. It was really fun and I really enjoyed it.”
While she didn’t suggest quitting her job as a presenter, she said she enjoyed “doing these unique things” and hoped to be able to do more.
Meanwhile, she joked about how great it was to not have kids and be “totally naked” when no one was around.
“I’m counting this as my Mother’s Day gift doing these two shows. Because I’m just hanging out and I could be, like, totally naked!
“I’m alone in a room. It’s so rare. But I love my babies. It makes me really sad when I leave them. But it’s good and you understand me if you’re a parent,” she confessed. .
The US Sun has learned that Kelly ordered room service from the hotel’s Council Oak Steaks & Seafood restaurant.
A source said they enjoyed the upscale restaurant’s French onion soup and beet salad, among other delicious dishes.
She has been open about her weight loss journey, having lost 60 pounds and recently admitted to using a weight loss medication that is not Ozempic but helps “break down sugar.”
DIVORCE DRAMA
Kelly and her ex-husband will have a legal showdown when the trial over their commissions begins at the end of August.
The TV personality talked about “dysfunctional families” and “vicious cycles” during the New Jersey show, but didn’t address her legal battle or mention her ex.
However, she talked about ending relationships.
Before performing her song Lighthouse, which is a “sad as hell” song, she asked the audience: “If you’ve ever been in a relationship, which I’m sure many of you have, and you think it’s going to be for always right?”
‘You have all these hopes, these dreams like aspirations and you try so hard, and then at some point you feel like you’re both treading water and that you’re going to drown, so you should probably do something… That’s where this song came,” she added.
Lighthouse was released in June 2023 on his 10th studio album, Chemistry, which was recorded during his divorce.
His last tour, The Meaning of Life Tour, ran from January to March 2019.
She then headlined her first Las Vegas residency, Chemistry: An Intimate Evening with Kelly Clarkson, from July to August 2023 and played a few more shows in December.
She returned to New York City on Monday, May 13, to perform two songs at the NBCUniversal Upfronts to close out the performance.
