A FORMER star of The Young and the Restless has returned to soaps by appearing in a new show.
The actor plays a character that has already been played by someone else in the soap opera.

Jordi Vilasuso will play Justin Ramos in the Amazon Prime Video soap opera The Bay, according to Soap opera summary.
The role was previously held by David Lago, who also starred in The Young and the Restless.
Jordi, 42 years old, was part of the world of soap operas until 2022, when he left TYATR.
“I’m really excited to start working on The Bay,” he told the outlet.

“The feedback has been tremendous and everyone is so excited for me to be back on the show. It will be good to be on set again.”
He knows soap operas because in addition to TYATR, Jordi also starred in Days of Our Lives and All My Children.
‘AMBITIOUS COMPANY’
Jordi shared that he is excited to play a character he has never played before.
“I would describe him as an ambitious businessman, which is something people have never seen me do,” he said.
“I’ve played a cop and a doctor, and I once played a sleazy businessman, but Justin is on the rise.”
“He’s a nice guy who gets involved with one of the richest families in town and also gets involved with partners who aren’t as nice as he wants them to be. There is also tension between him and other characters that could lead to romance. Jordan revealed.
Jordi told Soap Opera Digest that The Bay creator Gregori J. Martin reached out to his manager and asked if he wanted to be on the soap opera and he agreed.
The Bay follows the residents of Bay City, whose town is cursed by Senator Red Garrett, grandfather of socialite Sara Garrett.
Their lives are full of sex, lies and scandals.
‘TAKEN BY SURPRISE’
Jordi was fired from The Young and the Restless in 2022 and it took him by surprise.

He played Rey Rosales from 2018 to 2022, but the character died in a horrific car accident.
“I had just signed for another three years, but in hindsight I should have read the writing on the wall, because once you’re the only one of a [soap] family left, their days are numbered,” Jordi told the channel.
“I really liked some of the stories I told, but it’s a show and you have to take those hits and move on and move up. Luckily, I have a great agent and representatives who still believe in me.”
After leaving the soap, Jordi focused on expanding his family as his wife, Kaitlin, was expecting their third child at the time, Lucy, who was born in late 2023.
They are also parents to Riley, 11, and Everly, 7.

A few weeks after Jordi was let go from TY&TR, he blasted the show on his podcast.

“I thought about your exit story, for sure,” Kaitlin said.
Jordi could barely find the words, but he agreed with his wife.
He finished with a sarcastic laugh.
Kaitlin said it was nice to know that fans on social media felt the same way.
“Because it was a bit of a shock to leave,” she said.
“That’s what it was. But it was really nice that people were saying, ‘Hey, Rey deserved better than this!’”
Jordi reiterated that he appreciated all the love and support.
