Hailing from Georgia, Morgan Metzer is a mother of two who was a victim of gaslighting and was horribly assaulted by her husband.
She met Rodney Metzer when she was just 15 years old and they were childhood sweethearts,
The two married when Morgan was 21 and welcomed twins.
They divorced just a month before he attacked her on New Year’s Eve 2020.

She told The Sun that she hoped that by making the Lifetime movie she would help others in similar situations.
What happened to Morgan Metzer?
Ahead of the release of Gaslit By My Husband, Morgan spoke to The Sun and detailed how her nightmare unfolded on December 31, 2020.
She revealed how Rodney Metzer tied her hands and attacked her while wearing a Batman mask to distort his voice and hide his identity.
The attack was so severe that Morgan feared for his life, saying: “I knew I was going to die.”
Rodney punched and strangled Morgan, who still had no idea of the attacker’s identity.
But when he continued to attack his ex-wife and insult her, saying how much she would “miss her family and her husband,” Morgan’s quick thinking changed his tone in an instant.

She used reverse psychology and told him how much she “loved her husband.”
Morgan said: “Instantly the whole mood in the room changed. I wasn’t going to die.
“He then decided to pretend he was stealing jewelry or bags, stealing my phone or something.
“He started acting like a real thief, not a murderer.”
During the trial, I made sure he looked me in the eye the entire time. When I got out of that position, I felt like a completely new person.

Morgan was then dragged out into the freezing Georgia night and had a pillowcase placed over her head.
Rodney warned her that she would be shot if there was any attempt to escape while he fled.
However, he soon returned to the scene and pretended to be shocked by Morgan’s condition.
The police arrived and after a long investigation, they realized that the intruder was Rodney himself.

It has since been revealed that Rodney was a master manipulator and Morgan said he couldn’t accept the divorce, quickly becoming “strange and stalkerish”.
His mental state was further revealed after he insisted on a false diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, delivered to his ex-wife a few days before the attack.
Despite moving on with her life, Morgan told The Sun that the nightmare still haunts her and revealed that she “can still hear that voice”.
Who is Morgan Metzer’s husband Rodney?

Rodney Metzer is a convicted felon who is currently in prison.
He is incarcerated at the Augusta State Medical Prison in Grovetown.
On August 4, 2021, Rodney pleaded guilty to 14 charges, including sexual assault, kidnapping, and aggravated assault.
He agreed to a 70-year sentence, 25 of which would be in prison.
The first Metzer will be released from prison will be in 2046.
Morgan told The Sun that showing incredible strength and courage during a highly emotional hearing helped her deal with the pain.
“During the trial, I made sure he looked me in the eyes the entire time,” she said.
“When I left that position, I felt like a whole new person.”
