Who is Dr.
Dr. Jennifer Lee Garfein Ashton was born at George Air Force Base, California, on April 23, 1969, and is a physician, author and television correspondent.
She served as editor-in-chief of health and medicine, as well as chief medical correspondent for ABC News and GMA, and co-host of GMA3: What You Need to Know.
She was married to the late Robert Ashton from 1996 to 2017.
The pair had two children together.

As USA today reported, the famous doctor said goodbye on the morning of Thursday, June 27, 2024.
“We have covered some of the biggest moments in our country’s healthcare history, and it has been an incredible honor and privilege to lead the nation’s #1 medical network to do so,” she said.
“My mother was a nurse, my father was a cardiologist responsible for my passion for heart health. My brother is a reconstructive plastic surgeon,” she said, adding, “My kids are my kids.”
Why did Dr. Jen Ashton leave Good Morning America?
As reported by USA Today, Jen is leaving GMA to focus on her new women’s wellness company, Schedule.
She announced her departure in April 2024, writing on Instagram publish at the time, “It was an honor to be at ABC and help cover the country’s and world’s biggest health issues over the past 13 years
“My co-workers have become more than friends; they have become family and have accompanied me through the biggest professional moments of my life. I feel fortunate to have worked with the best in the business.”
During a June 25, 2024 appearance on The View, Jen opened up about her departure from ABC and the next chapter.
“I’m excited about the next step and really focused on what I’m certified in, which is women’s health and obesity medicine and nutrition,” she said.
The doctor continued, in part, “I’m looking forward to getting some sleep after four or five in the morning, but I’m also looking forward to the next chapter and really focusing on the areas in which I’m board certified. came in, so I’m excited.”
