TV presenter Drew Barrymore sparked controversy after fans watched her recent interview.
On Monday, One Day at a Time actress Valerie Bertinelli, 63, appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show to talk about her new cookbook Indulged.
In a video posted on the American daytime TV show’s Instagram profile, the Food Network host spoke with Drew, 49, about the difficulties he faced in 2022.
In 2021, she filed for divorce from ex-husband Tom Vitale citing irreconcilable differences. The separation was finalized the following year.
“2022 was probably the worst year of my life. I reached rock bottom. I no longer found joy in anything, I no longer wanted to cook. I thought ‘I have to get out of this’.
“I’m finally in a house that no longer feels like I’m walking on eggshells. I can live my life now, so how am I going to live it? and it starts in the kitchen, for me,” she said.

To get her life back on track, she continued working with her team on the recipes in her book.
Valerie said: “Unless I was ready to really feel my emotions and work with them and not numb them with food or alcohol, I wouldn’t change my life.
“It took me two long years to get here and I’m so grateful.”
From 2015 to 2023, Valerie had her cooking show on the Food Network called Valerie’s Cooking and was the host of Kids Baking Championship.
‘I WAS VERY DISTRACTED!’
While many fans commented positive messages for Valerie, others mentioned Drew sitting extremely close to the Golden Globe-winning actress.
One viewer questioned: “Why does Drew have to sit so close to her??”
Another said: “Drew! Entering people’s spaces and faces is very uncomfortable for them.”
“I love Valerie, but I honestly didn’t hear a word she said because I was too distracted by Drew awkwardly perched on her arm. Triggering behavior,” said another person.
“Drew, I love you, but back off just a little,” said a fourth.
A fifth fan joked: “I’m surprised Valerie’s elbow didn’t hit Drew’s arm or face.”
“Like I feel weird watching this clip,” admitted another.
A seventh replied: “Hey [Saturday Night Live], have you ever done a play about Drew’s personal space issue? If not, you’re missing out.”
TOO MUCH?
Drew is no stranger to getting close to her guests.
Last week, Drew welcomed Percy Jackson’s Logan Lerman, 32, and The Kissing Booth’s Joey King, 24, to his show.
Joey and Logan appeared on the show to promote their latest project, We Were The Lucky Ones.
During their conversationthe three bonded while growing up as child actors in the Hollywood industry.
Fans didn’t hesitate to mention how Drew was grabbing his hands and sitting very close to Joey.
“She is so invasive in people’s personal space. Really scary,” said one.
