THE VIEW’s Whoopi Goldberg showed less interest behind the scenes of the talk show during a recent taping, a source revealed to The US Sun.

The View fans suspect the longtime talk show host will soon step down from her role as moderator and her co-hosts after 16 years.

While taping the Wednesday, April 17 episode, Whoopi, 68, appeared to be “tired” during the daily 11 a.m. ET show, according to a source.

“Whoopi entered the room in sloppy pink overalls, a white shirt, and clogged shoes.

“She was very underdressed compared to the other hosts who were wearing dresses or pencil skirts,” the source said.

In addition to her casual work attire — which is her regular attire — during the recording, she appeared “uninterested” in conversations and “not in an upbeat mood compared to others.”

“She was hunched over and sometimes rested her head in her hands,” the source continued.

“After she finished reading her cards, she would tear them into pieces and hand them to a staff member, something the other co-hosts weren’t doing.”

The hot topic of the day was Donald Trump’s money hiding trial, which is currently underway in Manhattan Criminal Court in New York.

Whoopi, who is the show’s longtime moderator, initiated the conversation, but then let her colleagues — Sara Haines, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin — take over.

As seen in the live recording, the actress wasn’t too interested in the conversation about whether the former president’s wife, Melania Trump, should take the stand to testify about Stormy Daniels.

In keeping with the hot topics, the show aired the A Different World reunion, which, according to a source, was pre-recorded and not filmed live.

The April 17 episode ended with an interview with singer-songwriter Huey Lewis, who was there to promote his new Broadway play, The Heart of Rock and Roll.

“She loved Huey and begged him to stay at the table to help close the show after he was done with the interview,” the source commented.

US Sun has reached out to ABC for comment.

TALKING

Whoopi previously addressed retirement rumors in an exclusive interview with The US Sun in October 2023.

When asked about her retirement plans, she joked, “I haven’t done anything but retire. I’ve been retired my whole career, so I like that.”

The preview hosts

The View is an American talk show that airs on ABC from 11 am to 12 pm EST, Monday through Friday. It features a diverse group of women discussing the day’s “Hot Topics,” ranging from hard-hitting news to celebrity gossip. The six co-hosts include:

As part of the agreement with ABC, Whoopi works four days a week and has Fridays off, when Ana Navarro participates in the round table, in addition to Mondays.

“I have a contract. As long as I’m fulfilling the contract, no one will be mad.

“But I’ve been off on Fridays for years because when we normally did this, I would go to work and do shows or whatever because I could travel on Friday,” Whoopi continued.

OTHER PLANS

In addition to The View, the TV personality is known for her film roles and appearances on several drama shows.

She recently released her new film, Outlaw Posse, in early March.

According to her IMDB, she has several projects in the works, including an animated musical film called Fairy Tale Forest, another animated film titled Pierre the Pigeon-Hawk, and the long-awaited sequel Sister Act 3.

Next month, Whoopi is set to release a new memoir, Bits and Pieces: My Mother, My Brother, and Me, on May 7.

The semi-autobiographical book from Blackstone Publishing will chronicle the Hollywood star’s life, career and family.

“This book is dedicated to my mother and brother and the time we spent together as a fun little unit. It’s dedicated to anyone who has found themselves on a scary path they didn’t choose or who hasn’t dealt with loss,” she said. People.

“This book is dedicated to everyone who is just trying to figure out the little things, as well as the ones where you need to be more than you thought you could be, and it is dedicated to love.”
