FANS have praised Drew Barrymore after she offered comfort and support to a crying audience member.
The former child star left the crowd in tears after answering an emotional question from a fan.
Drew, 49, allowed a guest from his audience to share his experience as an immigrant from Italy who has lived in New York City “since August.”
The young woman, named Lexie, immediately began crying as she tried to share her story, prompting the 50 First Dates star to reach out and hold her hand.
The fan asked if she could hug the Drew Barrymore Show host, to which she replied, “Of course!”
Drew and his guest hugged and then fell into the stands together as the entire crowd roared with laughter.

Once the fan settled into the movie star’s lap, she explained her story of moving from Italy and how homesick she was.
The ET alum began offering advice, saying, “Transitions are really hard, no one talks about it.
“If you wanted to get here and you got here, isn’t that a big deal?”
Lexie confessed that she “cried the first three months” of her international move, but Drew noted that she “survived” that period.
“What have you done that you’re proud of yourself?” Drew asked, to which the guest explained that even though she’s “super shy,” she booked a “one-way ticket” and moved to New York alone.
The host responded, “Okay, so you faced a fear and did it alone. You’re brave, you’re bold, you have someone. Give yourself this time and be honest.
“What can you do with [the next] six months? Don’t be scared and wait for the time to run out. Be as proactive as you have been.
“So whatever your dream is, go after it.”
