FANS of The Good Doctor and The Rookie have been forced to wait for new episodes as ABC makes another schedule change.
Due to delays caused by the SAG and WGA strikes, The Rookie and The Good Doctor were forced to air reruns this week.
In fact, ABC has been airing reruns of the shows since early April.
This is the third week that fans have suffered during a previously seen night of television.
Strike delays meant new seasons couldn’t be filmed until November 2023, which is much later than usual.
This resulted in a shorter episode count for the season, as well as a long hiatus.

The last episode of The Good Doctor aired on April 9th and was the sixth episode of the show’s seventh season.
This will be the series’ final season, making the long hiatus and missed episodes even more heartbreaking for fans.
The show highlights the character Shaun Murphy, played by Freddie Highmore, an autistic surgeon.
The last new episode of Rookie – Secrets and Lies – which was the sixth episode of the show’s sixth session also aired on April 9th.
Nathan Fillion stars in The Rookie as the oldest LAPS rookie who joined the force at age 40.
Both shows will air their next episode next Tuesday, April 30th.
FAN FURY
Rookie’s official Instagram did a post reminding fans that the network will show a rerun this week.
The post read: “Attention please! You can watch a repeat episode of #TheRookie tonight at 9/8c on ABC before we return next week.”
Fans in the comments section of the post were furious that they had to wait another week for the new episode.
One of them said: “We don’t want a repeat episode, we want the next episode.”
“The pace of the Season 6 release is driving me crazy,” added another.
A third wrote: “What’s with the repeats? This is unacceptable”.
“I was really excited to have found a show that follows the classic format of 20 episodes per season in this world of eight mediocre episodes, but now you’ve joined them,” commented one former fan.
A fifth said: “This has been the longest 3 weeks of my life.”
One last fan said: “Tired of repeats. There almost won’t be a season,” with a crying emoji.
There are four episodes left this season of The Good Doctor and The Rookie.
