Is Missy Peregrym Leaving the FBI Cast Again?

Speculation has begun that Missy Peregrym may be leaving the FBI cast again based on what happened in season 6 episode 10, titled Family Affair.

As TV line reported, the episode – which premiered on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 – hinted that the actress – who plays Special Agent Maggie Bell – could be planning another exit.

However, in an early April interview with CinemaBlendMissy discussed the show and did not appear to indicate that she or her character would be leaving the hit television series.

She previously took a five-month hiatus during season 4 when she went on maternity leave.

What happened to Maggie at the FBI?

Maggie found herself in another dangerous situation on FBI Season 6, Episode 10.

According to TV Line, she was shot during the episode, with her Kevlar vest saving her life.

“It was close,” said Maggie’s partner, special agent Omar Adom “OA” Zidan – played by actor Zeeko Zaki.

Also to close. An inch down or to the left and I would have… I would have been about“, Maggie replied.

Maggie then spoke about her fears regarding Ella, whose mother, Special Agent Jessica Blake – played by actress Charlotte Sullivan – died during surgery in season 6, episode 6, titled Unforeseen, by Soaps.com.

Before her death, Jessica asked Maggie to be her daughter’s guardian if she did not survive the operation.

Per TV Line, Maggie continued: “I care about Ella. I mean, how can I not? If something happened to me, would that poor girl have to start over? Again? She needs me.”

OA later spoke with Special Agent Isobel Castille, played by actress Alana de la Garza.

“I think today really shook [Maggie]. Is there any way you can, I don’t know, demand that she take time off…? I just know she’ll never ask for it,” he said.

“Yes, I can. Is that what you think needs to happen…?” Isabel replied.

“Yes. I do. She almost orphaned that little girl for the whole world.”[a]inside. So yes,” said OA.

Rumors have already spread that Missy would leave the FBI after Season 6, Episode 6, titled Unexpected, per Soaps.com.

In the episode – which aired on March 26, 2024 – viewers saw the death of Maggie’s friend Jessica.

“The plot led fans to wonder if FBI was preparing Maggie to leave the series and permanently retire from field work to focus on being a mother,” the outlet stated.

What are the fans saying?

According to Soaps.com, “fans are convinced” that Maggie’s new storyline “will see her retire from the field and hang up her badge for good.”

Some took to TV Line to express their thoughts.

“I hope Maggie continues to be a character in the FBI series,” wrote one fan.

“I don’t think Maggie will leave. Missy just took a year off to have a baby. The very popular Shantel van Santen has taken over the season. She is now a regular on Most Wanted. If only Maggie would leave so soon After she came back, they probably would have kept van Santen in the role,” commented another.

“Without Missy, the FBI wouldn’t be the same. I don’t think CBS would have renewed the show for another three years. She’s certainly not leaving the show!” a third said.
