WITH the fate of The Conners currently up in the air, the ABC comedy is undergoing a big change in its final four episodes.

Fans fear the Roseanne spinoff could be canceled while its fate is up in the air.

Starting Wednesday, May 1, The Conners will air at 9:30/8:30c, according to TVInsider.

It originally aired at 9/8c and then moved up to 8/7c for season 5.

Now, the comedy will follow Abbott Elementary until the end of the sixth season.

The show has not yet been renewed for a seventh season.

The reason for the sudden time change is because the new season of Jeopardy! The Masters starts on May 1st, at 8pm.

Although the time is changing, the cast and plot remain the same.

The Conners stars John Goodman, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson and Laurie Metcalf.

ABOUT RESET

The Conners was another reboot after the original Roseanne reboot.

This was scrapped after just one season, after lead star Roseanne Barr was fired for going on a series of racist and Islamophobic rants on Twitter.

Network executives decided to recast the show and keep the rest of the cast.

They shift to focusing on the Conners as a whole.

Season 6 debuted in February after a shortened season due to the writers’ strike.

The show has not yet been renewed for season 7, as none of the cast have a contract for it.

‘UNEXPECTED AND EMOTIONAL’

Last week, Deadline reported: “In recent years, the actors, who were on one-year deals from the start, would have already finished negotiating new contracts, paving the way for a renewal, which inevitably followed.”

However, the cast did not negotiate anything after finishing filming for season 6.

The channel also reported that if The Conners is renewed, it will likely be for a seventh and final season.

Showrunner Bruce Helford told Deadline that they filmed a final episode that could be the season or series finale.

“We love it,” he admitted.

Bruce also said that the season 6 ending is unexpected and emotional.
