BABY Reindeer star and creator Richard Gadd’s next big TV series has been revealed.
The man of the hour won’t be working on a sequel to the hugely successful Netflix series – despite it topping the charts around the world.
Instead, the in-demand comic will head to the BBC after creating and writing a new drama.
The next show will be titled Lions and will focus on male friendships, toxic masculinity and shame.
According to the official synopses of the highly anticipated series, the central characters are two brothers.
It’s not yet clear whether Richard will also star.
O provocation The series’ logline reads: “When Niall’s estranged ‘brother’ Ruben shows up at their wedding, it leads to an explosion of violence that catapults us back through their lives.
“Spanning nearly forty years, from the 1980s to the present day, this ambitious series will cover the highs and lows of the brothers’ relationship, from their meeting as teenagers to their fights as adults – with all the good, bad, terrible, funny, angry and challenging moments along the way.
“It will capture nature energy of a changing city – even a changing world – and trying to get to the bottom of the difficult question… What does it mean to be a man?”
The BBC announced it had ordered the series in February, but at the time it failed to create much of a buzz as Baby Reindeer had yet to hit our screens.
It is now set to be one of the most anticipated programs on the network’s upcoming schedule.
Filming has not yet begun, so it is believed the show will not air until 2025.
It will be set and filmed in Glasgow.
As for Baby Reindeer, it is believed that the show will not have a second series as it is a closed story that was told, based on Gadd’s stage show of the same name.
That said, neither Netflix nor Gadd have officially commented on whether or not a second run could be in the works.
Turns out fans are obsessed with the word-of-mouth sensation, a semi-autobiographical tale in which Gadd’s character Donny is the victim of a stalker named Martha (played by Jessica Gunning).
Online detectives clamor to find the ‘real Martha’, despite Gadd insisting they don’t.
