Fans had been worried about the fate of NCIS: Hawai’i for weeks after the main series had already been renewed and other spin-off shows had been ordered.

Still, they were hopeful that CBS would soon renew the show for another season.

The NCIS spinoff launched in 2021 and recently added LL Cool J to its cast to reprise his NCIS: Los Angeles character Sam Hanna.

On Friday, however, the network revealed that it has decided to cancel the series.

The third and now final season finale is scheduled to air on May 6.

Fans criticized the cancellation as soon as it was announced, and star Vanessa’s comment on the news came soon after.

The 43-year-old actress, who plays Jane Tennant, the special agent in charge of NCIS: Hawaii, admitted she was “devastated” by the decision.

She shared that she was also “confused [and] caught by surprise.”

In the Instagram Stories post, Vanessa added that she was “grateful” for the show and all the “beloved fans.”

“Processing this news and still being present with my family,” she continued. “I love you all!
