The NCIS: Hawai’i star shared a selfie of herself and her daughter, 9-year-old Brooklyn, on her Instagram Story.

Vanessa played Jane Tennant, the special agent in charge of NCIS’ Hawaiian unit.

Brooklyn smiled for the camera as she sat next to her mother.

“I try to explain this news to my daughter… and she makes me Mickey ears, so I can ‘smile,’” Vanessa captioned the photo.

Nick Lachey’s wife wore Mickey Mouse ears with the letters “NC” on one ear and “IS” on the other.

“This decision was bigger than a TV show”, concluded Vanessa.

Their other children – Camden and Phoenix – were not in the photo.

Vanessa recently opened up about the cancellation of NCIS: Hawai’i and how she was blindsided by the decision.

MISSION FINISHED

One day after NCIS: Hawai’i was officially cancelled, Vanessa broke her silence.
