The 74-year-old Vietnam War veteran died unexpectedly in an explosion, and the broadcast ended with the crew giving him a full military funeral.

On X, formerly Twitter, viewers shared their thoughts after watching season 7 episode 6, titled So Little to Be Sure Of.

“I knew Morris was going to die, but I didn’t expect a fire,” one person said.

“But #Station19 giving Morris a military funeral? Fuuuuuuuuuck me, sobbing every time,” wrote a second.

“Oh that allowed the floodgates to open… I was crying the whole time but that scene REALLY let them out,” said a third.

“THEY ARE ALL THERE TO GIVE MORRIS THE FIRE HE DESERVES – I CANNOT DEAL,” wrote a fourth.

“Awww, they gave Morris a proper funeral, uniforms, US flag, salute and everything,” said another.

MORRIS ON STATION 19

The beginning of the episode showed Morris’ introduction to the Station 19 crew, where he became a regular and clinic favorite.

Crisis One was then called to his camp several times, previously showing him disoriented when viewers learned the camp had been emptied.

This meant that all of Morris’ belongings — as well as the paperwork for her VA housing interview — were gone.

Season 19 showrunners reveal how the cast ‘discovered’ the drama was ending before producers told them about the ‘fateful day’

Just as things were looking up, with a homeless Morris back on the road to get new housing, a fire broke out in his camp.

Although firefighter Victoria Hughes befriended Morris and knew the camp well, she was unable to be there due to probation.

Travis Montgomery was seen trying to get Morris to come out of his tent, but the veteran refused to lose his belongings once again.

As he returned to his tent, an explosion occurred and killed Morris on the spot.

The next scene showed a guilt-ridden Travis telling the team that he couldn’t save Morris’ life.

He then told Vic that he wished she had been there as he believed she could have convinced Morris to leave and possibly save his life.

Station 19 gave Morris a military funeral, showing his casket being carried with an American flag on top.

The end of the episode showed the flag being handed to Vic.

END OF AN ERA

The popular ABC drama will end later this year after seven seasons.

The Grey’s Anatomy spinoff only has four more episodes until the end of Season 7, which premiered last month.

The show also reached its historic milestone of 100th episode during this season.

When news of the cancellation was first announced, fans immediately expressed their disappointment.

Showrunners Zoanne Clack and Peter Paige also admitted they had barely broken into their new offices when they were told the show was ending.

“We’ve been filming the new episodes for two days? And we got the call,” said Zoanne TV line in April.

Peter said they immediately called a large staff meeting to ensure everyone heard the news directly from them.

“Basically, we got the news and were like, ‘Get the cast together, get the writers together, get the crew together… Make sure they all meet us at lunch!’ So we ran, ran, ran to warn them before there was a leak,” he said.

Peter and Zoanne said a few tears were shed during the touching reunion.

Despite the cancellation, knowing the show’s fate helped the duo shape the final storyline.

“There was a really complex arson story that we had never done on the show,” Peter explained, adding, “We had to say, ‘OK, well, this is going to be a Never Season story.’”
