GEN V’s latest announcement regarding Chance Perdomo’s role in Season 2 has left fans with mixed reactions.
In late March, Chance, 27, died in a motorcycle accident.
Generation V follows the rising stars at Godolkin University, America’s only college for superheroes.
The producers of Generation V released a statement about the show account on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“As we continue to navigate the tragic loss of Chance Perdomo, everyone at Generation V is determined to find the best way to pay respect to his memory,” the statement read.
For the upcoming second season, producers decided not to recast the role of Andre Anderson because “no one can replace Chance.”
“Instead, we have set aside time and space to recreate the stories of season two when we begin production in May.”
“We will honor Chance and his legacy this season,” the statement concluded.
THE COMMENTS
Viewers took to the comments section to support and criticize the decision.
“Man, I still can’t believe he passed away. I was a huge fan of his. I know people might not like this route, but I care more about how the team copes and how long it takes while they still suffer,” an awake fan.
“If there was a planned character arc it would be more respectful to continue it, if there wasn’t and Andre was simply sidelined that would be a different matter,” one reviewer disapproved.
“I think it’s better not to reformulate and respect the person in that way. I trust the producers to change the show or connect a new story arc”, supported another fan.
“I make the decision, but it also sucks, because [Chance] had the most interesting story of the season. His relationship with Kate, his father’s history and where they ended up with him left a lot open. He would have liked to see how it all went down,” argued one critic.
“Damn. It will be interesting to see what they come up with,” said one commenter.

The Generation V announcement came after Amazon Prime launched the Season 4 trailer for The Boys at CCXP Mexico over the weekend.
