ACTOR Tom Selleck has called on CBS to continue Blue Bloods for another season.
Over the weekend, Tom, 79, spoke about the show’s chances of renewal.

The Blue Bloods star argued with CBS Sunday Morning whether or not the show will continue with a 15th season.
“Well, that’s a good question,” the former Magnum PI actor said in a lengthy response.
“I will continue to think that CBS will come to its senses.
“We are the third highest rated program across all broadcasts.”
“We are winning the night. The whole cast wants to come back,” he continued.
“I can tell you one thing: We’re not sliding off a cliff; we’re putting on good shows.”
“And still keeping our place. So, I don’t know. You tell me,” Tom concluded.
The first half of Season 14 ends with a two-part episode on May 10.
The second half, which consists of eight episodes, will air sometime in the fall.
STRONG COMPETITION
Blue Blood’s chances seem slim as the CBS network has focused its attention on a new crime drama.
In early May, CBS ordered its first new series, Sheriff Country, for the 2025-2026 season, according to Deadline.
The Fire Country spinoff follows Deadpool actress Morena Baccarin, 44, as Sheriff Mickey Fox, half-sister of Cal Fire division chief Sharon Leone (Diane Farr).).
While patrolling the streets, Mickey investigates criminal activity in the small town of Edgewater.
The April issue, Alert the Sheriff, introduced Mickey and served as the backdoor pilot for the spinoff.

Fans jumped onto X, formerly known as Twitter, and criticized CBS for ordering Sheriff’s Island instead of renewing Blue Bloods.
“What’s wrong with you, CBS? Fire Country routinely gets lower ratings than #BlueBloods, yet you decide to end #BlueBloods, while making a spin-off of Fire Country,” one angry viewer said at the time.
‘MASS APPEAL FRANCHISES’
In June 2023, CBS Chairman and CEO George Cheeks seemed eager for Sheriff Island at the Banff World Media Festival.
“We are focused on franchises with mass appeal,” praised George.
“The number one show this season was Fire Country, which totally lends itself to building a whole new universe.
“It was very clear that the show was not only special, but it really felt like it could be a great example of how we built a franchise together from the ground up.”
“And then I thought, ‘Guys, congratulations, you recovered. Now let’s start talking about ideas for new extensions.’ They’ve already created some great ones,” she concluded.
