The cast of NCIS: Hawai’i reunited for one last shout after the beloved TV series was abruptly canceled.

Two weeks ago, CBS pulled the plug on the drama before the Season 3 finale even aired, leaving fans furious and the series with an emotional finale.

NCIS: Hawai’i was canceled at the end of April, leaving fans and its cast heartbroken.

The news that Season 4 wouldn’t happen also came just a month after the Season 3 finale was filmed.

No one thought the season finale would be the last episode, so fans were left with loose ends and the cast didn’t get to say goodbye.

On Friday, much of the cast gathered on a beach at sunset to be together once again.

They celebrated their bond and professed their love for the island they have called home and workplace for more than three years.

The group photo included Vanessa Lachey (who starred as Jane Tennant), Tori Anderson (Kate), Jason Antoon (Ernie) and his wife Seana Kofoed (Dr. Chase).

They each shared Instagram Stories chronicling the seaside reunion, including the likes of Vannessa’s husband, Nick Lachey.

‘WE LOVE YOU HAWAII!’

“We love U Hawai’i’…. We really LOVE you! Vanessa wrote to Lachey along with the photos.

They showed her with Nick and other cast members – all while the sunset unfolded in the distance.

Vannessa also thanked the original cast members who were unavailable for the reunion.

She wrote: “‘To my favorite Kiwi” (referring to Alex Tarrant, who played Kai).

“And for our Yas!” (as in Yasmine Al-Bustami, who played Lucy).

‘WHAT DO WE DO NOW?’

The bombshell news came on April 26 that NCIS would not be returning.

Typically, shows are canceled between seasons, so the news was especially brutal.

The series starred Vanessa and LL Cool J, who also appeared on NCIS: Los Angeles.

Across three seasons, the show aired just 54 episodes, making it the shortest NCIS series.

Vanessa, after processing the news, took to Instagram on May 1 to share a video of the seaside where the pilot was filmed.

“As I sat here today, knowing our show was over, I turned to [the ocean] again [asking] what we do now,” she wrote.

“She responded easily. Just as the air hits the water and the water hits the land, the waves connect with the shore, some with a huge impact, and then… they bounce back out.

“You see… we weren’t meant to stay here forever, we’re on borrowed time. We appreciate what we’ve been given for our use, we nurture it and then leave it better for the next dreamer.”

“I wish we had more time, I’m sorry we didn’t. I wish we had said goodbye properly, I’m sorry we didn’t,” she added.

“I know we are ALL connected more deeply than any TV show.”

ABRUTE ENDING

What ended up being the series finale of NCIS: Hawaii aired last Monday, May 6th.

At the end of the episode, Sam Hanna’s (LL Cool J) team threw him a going-away party in Hawaii.

The team toasted him and all the fallen agents who were unfortunately killed.

When Jane Tennant (Vanessa) returned home, she expected to find her daughter, Julie, there, waiting for her.

Instead, Maggie Shaw (guest star Julie White) was sitting on her couch, having a drink.

Maggie was a former CIA agent and Jane’s friend and mentor.

She first appeared in season 1 and was only seen again at the end of season 3.

“No, Janey. Julie isn’t here,” said Maggie, when Jane entered the room.

“And you’ll probably need a drink for what comes next…”

The screen then switched to Jane, who looked worried, and it faded to black and the credits rolled, so fans never knew what came next.

‘VERY CONFUSING!’

Fans took to X, formerly Twitter, furious about the end of the series.

“’Julie’s not here and you’ll probably need a drink for what’s coming!’ I’m throwing myself off a cliff!” one person raged.

“We need a 4th season!” said another.

“It’s not the end of a series, just the end of a season. Give us a proper send-off,” another fan pleaded.

“I’m so confused because the end of that episode of NCIS: Hawaii is telling me… another season? Why that moment of anguish!?? Maybe it wasn’t cancelled?

“Oh. It’s not over. Not even close,” another fan tweeted.

‘SAVE NCIS!’

NCIS: Hawaii, which premiered in 2021, had average ratings for CBS.

Plus, the announcement of the spinoff series, NCIS: Origins, was probably the push the network needed to eliminate Hawaii.

CBS has no plans to cancel NCIS: Hawai’i, nor is it being shopped elsewhere, according to TVLine.

However, a #SaveNCISHawaii campaign (complete with billboard in Times Square) was implemented, which Vanessa and the other cast members supported on social media.
