Photos from the Disney+ spinoff were released and one character was missing.

Selena, 31, appeared at the Disney Upfronts on Tuesday, May 14, in New York City.
In addition to showing a trailer for the new season of her Hulu show, Only Murders in the Building, she made another exciting announcement.
The Wizards of Waverly Place spin-off, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, will air on Disney Channel and Disney+ later this year.
The first photos of the new show, along with the logo and title, were released at the same time.

In one photo, Selena, who plays Alex Russo, the family wizard and middle child of the Russo family, and her brother, Justin, played by David Henrie, the oldest brother and professor at Wiz Tech, were next to each other. . , holding their wands.
The second photo showed Alex and Justin sitting around the kitchen table, smiling.
They were surrounded by Justin’s wife and children, who fans have yet to meet.
Justin’s wife is Mimi Gianopulos (Giada Russo), and his children are Alkaio Thiele (Roman Russo) and Max Matenko (Milo Russo).
The show’s synopsis reads: “The series follows an adult Justin Russo, who has chosen to lead a normal, mortal life with his family, Giada, Roman and Milo.”
“When Justin’s sister Alex brings Billie to their home for help, Justin realizes he must dust off his magical skills to mentor the wizard-in-training, while also juggling his daily responsibilities – and safeguard the future of the Wizarding World.”
Billie is a new main character, played by Janice LeAnn Brown.
Newcomer Taylor Cora has joined the cast as Winter, Billie’s bubbly, quirky, shared best friend.
Selena is the executive producer of the new show, as well as starring in it.

Although most of the Russo family was missing from the photos, fans were worried about another character.

Only Selena Gomez and David Henrie returned from the original Wizards of Waverly Place, which aired on Disney Channel from 2009 to 2013. But the Russo family had more members, as well as some friends who won’t be returning either.

Alex’s best friend Harper, played by Jennifer Stone, was not featured in the new promotional photos.
Harper was in love with Justin in the original series, so some fans are shocked that she didn’t marry him.
“Where’s Harper?” a user X, formerly of Twitter, asked.
“Father. She wanted to be in the reboot so bad too,” one fan responded.
“Not them replacing Harper,” said another.
However, Justin’s wife was supposed to be a different character.
“I don’t know if it will be any good if the original cast isn’t there,” added a third.
“That’s not Harper,” said another.
“Remaking a Harper is crazy,” added another.
Jennifer, 31, stopped acting and became a nurse shortly after Wizards ended in 2013.

IT’S NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE
The original Wizards followed the Russo family.
The children – Alex, Justin and Max – were receiving wizard training from their father, Jerry, who gave up his powers to marry a mortal, Theresa.
Jerry had a diner below Russo’s house.
At the end of the series, the three children competed against each other to find out who would be the family wizard and keep their magical powers.
Alex won the competition, but Justin also managed to keep his powers.
The director of Wiz Tech, the wizard school, gave him back his powers when he offered him a teaching position at the school.
Unfortunately, Max became mortal and did not retain his powers.
Two films were made and aired with the series.
