GREY’S Anatomy has lost a major character as the series announces another departure.
Midori Francis, who plays Mika Yasuda, is leaving the drama after only joining the cast in 2022 for the 19th season.
A source said Deadline that she is “in talks to return next season to wrap up her character’s story.”
The agency said his departure was an amicable decision.
Midori wants to take the next steps in her career.
She is the second Grey’s series regular to announce her departure during season 21, along with Jake Borelli.

Jake played against Levi Schmitt for seven seasons.
Mika is part of the ragtag team of five doctors accepted into Gray Sloan’s teaching program.
Mika has a dark sense of humor that often got her into trouble on her internship.
Before joining Grey’s in 2022, Midori starred in Netflix’s Dash & Lily, which only lasted one season.
Even so, the actress was nominated for an Emmy for this role.
Midora also starred in The Sex Life of College Girls, Afterlife of the Party and Good Boys, among other projects.
‘WHAT THE HELL?’
Grey’s fans were not happy with the news of Midori’s departure.
They reacted to his departure on X, formerly Twitter.
“HOW AM I ALREADY LOSING MIKA YASUDA? WHAT THE HELL?” one fan asked.
“What?? She was the best of the new interns, not even close,” said another.
“Horrible!” added a third.
“No! Not her, I like her,” said user X.
ONE MORE IS GONE
Jake’s departure was announced on Tuesday by Deadline.
He’s been on Grey’s for seven seasons and was a regular in five of them.
Jake will also return next season to wrap up his story as Levi, a senior resident who works with the interns.
The linear decline in ratings and financial concessions are the reason for the shrinking cast.
The renewal for the 21st season came with a major budget cut.
The season may also have fewer episodes than usual.
