In your Locked and probably loaded podcast, DJ, 45, revealed the engagement news.

On Supernatural, DJ played a werewolf called Garth, while Ty, 50, played a vampire called Benny.

Although they both worked on the show, DJ revealed in the podcast episode, titled A Love Letter to Supernatural, that they didn’t actually meet until they met at a fan event.

“At the convention, we didn’t know each other,” he shared. “Maybe we said three words together at the Supernatural convention and then went to London for four or five days.”

DJ continued: “And then I was going to Turkey with a friend, and he’s such a pure, amazing guy, and he came up to us – we all left as a group – and he was like, ‘Can I come in? your trip with you?’”

The 45-year-old praised the “courageous” move and said he could never have done something like that.

“I would be afraid that they would say yes to me begrudgingly and then not want me there,” DJ explained. “But it was so pure and incredible, and he is like that.”

That was the beginning of their friendship, DJ shared, but their relationship grew from there.

One excited fan said that Supernatural was essentially “a matchmaking show” with DJ and Ty’s relationship, as well as Jared Padalecki and his wife Genevieve, and Ruth Connell and Rob Benedict.

“That’s right,” DJ replied to the fan on X (formerly Twitter). “And we all love each other. It’s so amazing I can tell you.”

Ty also received a slew of good wishes from fans on social media.

“Thank you everyone for all the love, support and kindness today,” he tweeted. “Sending you all some love and hugs.”
