CSI: VEGAS star Paula Newsome teased major hurdles for the series’ unplanned finale.
In April, it was revealed that the CBS show was on the decline after just three seasons.
According to the cast, the final episode will leave fans guessing in an attempt to end the series faster than planned.
The show’s main star, Paula Newsome, who plays Maxine, revealed that CSI: Vegas will end with “multiple cliffhangers,” unlike the previously canceled NCIS: Hawai’i, which ended finitely.
“There’s a lot more to see, there’s a lot more to know…”, joked the actress to TV line this week.
“It’s a scary situation, this AI thing, the things we see Max deal with.”
MENDING RELATIONSHIPS
Paula added that when the series wraps its final episode this Sunday, “there will be some resolution between Max and Joshua.”
Joshua, played by actor Matt Lauria, will resolve the conflict related to his demotion to CSI Level 1, which occurred at the beginning of the season.
According to the show’s host, CSI: Vegas will “definitely” end with “multiple cliffhangers.”
Fast forward to the series’ unplanned finale, Maxine and Chris, played by actor Jay Lee, were seen crawling through tech giant Truman Thomas’ DNA hacking lab.
In a moment of tension, a can of poisonous gas was thrown towards them.
In an attempt to save them, Chris slapped the can but unfortunately inhaled a large amount of gas.
Before Maxine could intervene to help, a henchman pointed a gun at the back of her head.
DIFFICULT POSITION
As Sunday’s finale approaches, Paula said TV Line that her character “has a bit of pasta.”
“It’s not often that she’s in a place like this,” she explained.
“You take a job like this, you have to expect there to be a certain amount of danger, but when you wake up in the morning you wouldn’t expect that you would have to deal with it alone, or look at one of your employees. [possibly dying].
“So yeah, it’s some pasta,” Paula noted.
END OF THE ROAD
In April, CBS renewed 11 scripted shows for the 2024-2025 season.
However, CSI: Vegas and So Help Me Todd were not included.
The decision came as a shock to fans due to the show’s enormous popularity.
According to Nielsen’s seven-day linear ratings, the crime drama garnered 6.4 million viewers per episode, as reported by THR.
But the high ratings weren’t enough to keep him out of the way.
CBS has had 12 of the 15 most scripted series on TV since mid-February.
