On Tuesday, Variety reported that Walker has been canceled at The CW after four seasons.

“We want to thank the entire cast, crew, writers, directors and producers of ‘Walker’ for their hard work and dedication over four incredible seasons,” The CW said in a statement addressing the cancellation.

The statement continued: “We also want to give a special thanks to star and executive producer Jared Padalecki, who has been a member of the CW family for over 20 years and has been an integral part of some of the network’s biggest hits.”

Padalecki led Walker in his titular role, which was a reimagining of Chuck Norris’ character Cordell Walker in Walker, Texas Ranger.

The series followed Walker, “a widower and father of two with his own moral code”, after he returned home to Austin, Texas, after spending two years undercover and discovering a more difficult job to be done at home.

Padalecki posted a separate declaration on your personal Instagram account.

The Supernatural alum shared a photo of his cowboy hat with the message: “Hello everyone. It is with a heavy heart that I share this news with you.”

He continued, “#Walker will not air #CW for a fifth season.

“It’s difficult news, for sure, but we are SO grateful for the #WalkerFamily that has been built, both on set and off.”

“After four seasons together, we feel the love and support from the entire #WalkerFamily and are forever grateful,” Padalecki added.

The statement continued: “Too often, we are the ones on the receiving end of praise, gratitude, and flattery, and too often we miss the opportunity to put them back where they belong…

“WITH THE FANS!

In this world, home is not a “place”; it’s a relationship. “Places” can be lost. “Relationships” can last forever.”

The House of Wax star continued, “Our gratitude and love for the entire #WalkerFamily will live forever.

“It was a unique honor to be part of the cast and crew (and the fandom!) that helped #Walker tell the stories we tell.”

He concluded: “I will forever smile about the years I spent with the cast, crew, studio, network and fandom that made it all possible.

“Until we ride again.”
