FBI guest star Zack Palomo revealed the ABC drama’s complete protocol for weapons and props following the fatal shooting of Alec Baldwin Rust.
Alec, 66, will stand trial in July for manslaughter after director of photography Halyna Hutchins died aged 42 in 2021 when a prop gun fired live ammunition on set.

Zack revealed that his experience on the set of the ABC drama was very different in an exclusive interview with The US Sun.
He played a character named Landon Garcia in Season 6, Episode 6.
Landon carried a poisonous gas that killed countless people.
When he was caught by the FBI, he was surrounded by them and raised his hands in surrender before they took him into custody.

Maggie Bell, played by Missy Peregrym, pointed a gun at Landon before arresting him.
However, Zack shared that although his adrenaline was pumping, he didn’t feel in any real danger.
“The guns look so real [and] they’re yelling at you to put your hands up… and it all feels very real, so that just amplified my performance,” Zack said.
“And like, I think all that adrenaline fueled the terror that my character was supposed to be feeling.”
“They have so many people on set to make you feel safe, especially in the scenes where you have a gun pointed at you or you’re getting cops, like people are always coming up to you and [asking]’Are you okay?'” he revealed.
Zack stated that the crew was always checking his comfort around props, including weapons and handcuffs.
“I remember someone came up to me and showed me the scenographic weapon.
“And they said, ‘Take a look at this. It’s not loaded and there’s nothing in it.’
“So I’m sure those protocols — I mean, I’m assuming and hoping — were already in place before the Rust incident.
“I think they really take the time to make sure you feel comfortable [when] you are dealing with auxiliary weapons.
They have so many people on set to make you feel safe, especially in the scenes where a gun is pointed at you.

“They definitely made me feel safe about it,” concluded Zack.
The FBI has just concluded its sixth season with the finale releasing on May 21, 2024.
DEFINE SLAUGHTER
Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the gunsmith in the film Rust, was sentenced to 18 months in prison for manslaughter in April.
She had mistakenly loaded a real bullet into an imitation Colt .45 revolver, which was given to Alec on set.
Alec was charged with manslaughter in January 2023, but the charges were dropped in April of the same year.
In January 2024, Alec was accused of the same crime and will go to trial in July, where he will face the same potential sentence as Hannah.
Alec has denied the allegations and his defense team is trying to dismiss the case.
He also denied pulling the trigger that caused the gun to fire, but an analysis of the gun revealed that the trigger had been pulled.
This analysis led to Alec being charged with manslaughter again in January 2024.
INCONSISTENT
Alec stated that he only pulled the hammer from the gun and did not know that the gun contained live bullets.
Prosecutors alleged that Alec changed his story over the years of the ongoing case.
“Each time Mr. Baldwin spoke, a different version of events emerged from his mouth and his subsequent statements contradicted his earlier statements,” the prosecution team said.
Alec will stand trial in New Mexico this summer and could face 18 months in prison if found guilty.
