Young & Restless’ Courtney Hope speaks out on social media break as explanation leaves fans worried star is leaving soap

Young and the Restless star Courtney Hope explained why she recently slowed down her social media use.

Courtney, who plays Sally Spectra on the CBS soap, left fans worried after they noticed she had stopped posting online.

The 34-year-old actress recently shared an Instagram Story post to address your hiatusfirst saying that many of her fans asked her where she was.

“We each go through different seasons in our lives, and this season for me has been a lot about working with my head down, nose to the grindstone, and really nurturing the relationships around me and with myself,” Courtney said.

She then informed followers that she limited herself to just 15 minutes of social media a day, which she said was “wonderful.”

“I’ve been diving more into my life and looking at who I need to be, what I want to be, what my life will look like in the next chapter and how I can become that,” the actress added.

“This is my work season. With my head down, I’m part of many different things. Many deadlines are approaching.

“And also really looking at the things in my life that I’ve been neglecting because of all my work.”

Courtney got vulnerable about her mental health, noting the importance of stopping looking at other people online.

“There’s a line from inspiration and motivation to depression, honestly,” she admitted.

“So, yes, I am taking a step back and not neglecting these things and making these changes and enjoying my life as it is.”

The actress said that although she may be slowing down for now, fans can expect her to continue posting more in the future.

“I’m excited for the season where I post, post, post and share all the good news.

For now, though, Courtney said she’s spending her time “being grateful for what and who I have.”

APPRECIATION POST

Last week, the actress shared a inspirational post to her IG feed about being more involved in the growth journey of those around her.

“There’s no way to know everything that’s going on in someone’s mind and heart and what they’re working on, so why don’t we ask more questions and follow them on their journey of growth?” she wrote.

“This is something I’ve been working on lately, asking deeper questions of the people closest to me to learn who they are TODAY rather than assuming I know the answer or their course of action based on history.”

Shortly before, she sent a video centered around wellness affirmations she says to herself.

The clip showed her meditating on a nearly empty beach as the wind blew in her face.

So, yes, I am taking a step back and not neglecting these things and making these changes and enjoying my life as it is.”

She then slowly turned around and stood with her arms wide open, enjoying the quiet moment alone.

CALM BEFORE THE STORM

The soap opera star has been focusing her platform more on growth and appreciation in recent weeks.

The “slow down” mentality comes just before the 51st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards air on June 7, where Courtney was nominated.

She is up for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Daytime Drama Series for her role as Sally on The Young and the Restless.

Her co-star Alison Lanier was also nominated, as were Jennifer Gareis, Linsey Godfrey and Emily O’Brien.

After the nominations were revealed in April, Courtney spoke to Soap opera summary about what honor meant to her.

“I think being nominated for the first time on Young and Restless is a big thing in my heart. I really value this show a lot,” she said.

“Everyone has been a great support system… and to be able to be respected in that aspect by them is wonderful.”

Courtney added that her character’s impactful storyline was very important to her, noting that the nomination felt like she had done her “due diligence” on the story.

“I’m so excited that this story is being recognized. And that’s what, as a whole, I’m really excited about,” said the actress.

Courtney also said she is “super honored” to be standing alongside her fellow nominees in her category.
