STARZ revealed that Power Book IV: Force will end after the third season.
It’s the latest drama to be cut after Starz CEO Jeffrey Hirsch revealed plans to develop more new shows rather than continue more expensive existing shows.
Power Book IV: Force showrunner and executive producer Gary Lennon said he created a “fulfilling” ending for Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora) and the gang.
“It’s bittersweet to write the rewarding end to this chapter in Tommy’s journey, a character that fans and I have loved for the past decade,” said Gary. Deadline.
“Season 3 will question everything we thought we knew about Tommy’s world, and I promise it won’t disappoint!”
“While this may be the end of the road for Force, there is a much more expansive and compelling narrative for the characters in the Power Universe,” he added.
The third season of the series is currently in production in Chicago and filming is expected to wrap in July.
Joseph said the upcoming season will be the “final chapter of Tommy’s journey in Chicago,” in a message to fans from the set on Instagram on Thursday.
“When Gary Lennon, the other writers and I were mapping out our third season, we saw that we were telling a complete story,” he said.
“This was the perfect opportunity to stay true to our artistic vision and make this the final chapter of Tommy’s journey in Chicago.
“But don’t worry, Tommy’s journey is far from over. We’re just getting warmed up and I can’t hang on to show what we plan next.
“So tune in, because ghosts never die and the power never ends.”
“He said the final chapter in Chicago,” commented one fan.
“It looks like he’s going somewhere else. Possibly the West Coast, which was the original plan.”
“Don’t play with us, Joseph!! We are tired of you canceling shows left and right haha,” added another.
“The Force Is Over? But a New Spinoff?”. a third guessed.
The first season of Power Book IV: Force premiered in 2022 and was Starz’s most-watched premiere in the US.
It is not yet known when the third season will air.
