HOUSE of the Dragon fans mocked HBO after the network placed a huge dragon on the Empire State Building.

Critics say the promotional stunt is poorly planned and not fun.

The Empire State Building in New York City tweeted a photo of a huge dragon coiled around the top half of the skyscraper.

“The Queen of Dragons has arrived,” the building tweeted.

In the comments, fans were divided about the promotional maneuver.

“I love the marketing for this show,” one supporter posted.

“OK enough. This is scary,” shared one critical commenter.

“I have the vision, but it looks so bad,” complained another.

“Wait, why does it look so bad[?]”, asked a fourth fan.

“Well that was money very badly spent,” another person shared.

The balloon dragon is 270 feet long, according to BusinessWire.

It’s made to look like Vhagar the Dragon, who fans will recognize from House of the Dragon.

First, take a look at the second season of the epic Game Of Thrones prequel, House Of The Dragon

Fans wanting a glimpse of Vhagar can check it out in Manhattan, with the best views available just south of the Empire State Building.

Those who want to get up close and personal with the dragon can do so on the south deck of the Empire State Building’s 86th floor Observatory.

In addition to the dragon, the Empire State Building has adjusted its lights so that fans can enjoy a series of light shows.

“Shortly after the Empire State Building swore allegiance to the King, Vhagar descended into the heart of New York City and claimed the flagpole of the ‘World’s Most Famous Building’ as his perch,” said ESRT and CEW President Tony Malkin in a communicated. declaration.

Game of Thrones books

Game of Thrones premiered on HBO in April 2011. The show is based on the popular book series authored by George RR Martin.

  • A Game of Thrones
  • A Clash of Kings
  • A storm of swords
  • A feast for crows
  • A dance with dragons
  • The Winter Winds

A seventh novel, A Dream of Spring, is expected to come.

“The citizens of Westeros can now sit on the Iron Throne on the Observatory’s grand staircase and then climb to the 86th floor to face the colossal beast up close while taking in the unparalleled 360-degree views from our world-famous Observatory – Tripadvisor’s #1 attraction in the United States.”

WARMING UP

Game of Thrones fans may not like the latest promotion, but they have plenty of reasons to be excited.

In April, HBO announced that it was working on a second Game of Thrones prequel.

Amid the success of House of the Dragon, the network announced the imminent release of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Knight Errant.

The show is in early development, HBO confirmed during an investor event with Warner Bros.

The show is currently expected to follow the lives of Dunk and Egg 90 years before the events of the original, A Song of Ice and Fire.

In an effort to get fans excited, HBO offered a brief synopsis of the show so fans know what to expect.

“A century before the events of Game of Thrones, two unlikely heroes roamed Westeros… a young, naive but brave knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg,” the network joked.

“Set in a time when the Targaryen bloodline still holds the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon has not yet faded from living memory, great destinies, powerful enemies and dangerous exploits await these unlikely and incomparable friends.”

The show is set to launch on HBO’s new service, MAX.

Ryan Condal and Vince Gerardis, executive producers of the original Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon spinoffs, will return to oversee this new show.

The announcement left fans excited, with many taking to social media to share their thoughts.

“It was announced some time ago. I’m glad to see it’s actually moving forward, that’s what I’m most excited about,” wrote one fan.

“1 season for each of the three soap operas and this one will be elite. Amazing stories,” posted a second commenter.

“That’s it! The best GOT spin-off, calling now!” a third fan wrote.

MORE TO COME

Other fans, however, are simply eager for more House of the Dragons.

The show is set to return for a second season, and details about what to expect are already emerging.

The first season brought fans back to Westeros, following the Targaryen family.

Showrunner Ryan Condal has promised that season two will have an even bigger impact.

Some viewers expressed disappointment with the slower pace of the first season.

Ryan promised that in season two the show will find its footing.

She revealed that the action of the first season was intentionally slowed down to give fans a better chance to get to know the cast of characters.

“We’ll get to the show,” he promised.

“but you need to understand the complexities of these people before they are thrown into war.”

“Season 2 will hit the beats that people expect from the middle phase of Game of Thrones.

“But it will have been achieved and viewers will feel the tragedies because we worked hard.”

The head writer also promised fans that the second season will not be as serious as this year’s,” he continued.

“There will be natural avenues for moments of levity,” he said of the show.

“I think Matt Smith is very funny. If there’s one character who doesn’t care, it’s Daemon.”

Daemon Targaryen is played by Matt Smith in House of the Dragon.

The second season of House of the Dragon premieres Sunday at 9pm on HBO and MAX.
