However, the trio haven’t completely closed the door on the Pearson family, as they are reuniting to host a new rewatch podcast, That Was Us.

On Friday, Sterling, 48, Mandy, 40, and Chris, 43, shared the news on the podcast’s Instagram page.

“We are SO excited to finally announce that the (big) three of us are retiring Tuesdays and bringing #ThisIsUs back via a rewatch podcast called #ThatWasUs, starting May 14th!” the post read.

“For six seasons and 106 episodes, Tuesdays brought us together with tissues in one hand and pantry wine in the other. but let’s say that our tears served as emotional catharsis…”

The TV stars continued: “Sibling rivalry, body issues, marriage, divorce, adoption, love, blended families, terminal illness, death, miscarriage, racism and substance abuse are here in our backyard, just as they were with the Pearsons.

“So what we would like to do is really dig deeper. Let’s break down each episode, bring on some very special guests, have difficult conversations, and maybe do some collective healing along the way??” the post has been completed.

Eager listeners shared their enthusiasm for the podcast in the comments.

“Ok I’M ALREADY CRYING!!!! So excited about this??” one person wrote.

“OH MY GOD the family is back,” said another.

“OMG, dream come true! I’ve never been able to let this show go….” a third confessed.

The stars received widespread praise for their roles, garnering 39 Emmy nominations over the show’s six-year run and taking home four wins.

Fans previously predicted that a spin-off series would materialize after an emotional series finale left them wanting more from the cast.

“I decided the ending was the perfect setting for an R&B spinoff,” declared one social media user.

They then suggested a possible plot: “We’re going to get to the presidential race, love baby William virtually, get more Tess and Annie, and see all our other family members along the way.

“We won’t be satisfied unless that happens, so let’s go!!” the fan added.

“The way #ThisIsUs ended made me sure… that there will be an R&B spinoff!” another agreed.

“Isn’t that what they were trying to say?”

“I feel like the #ThisIsUs ending was just a setup for a possible spinoff around Randal and his family. (I would love to see that),” a third suspected.

“Still waiting for @SterlingKBrown or @skelechiwatson to announce the spin off.”

Despite pleas from fans, series creator Dan Fogelman assured that a spin-off was not in the works.

“I’m quite determined to be like that,” he said. TV line after the show ended.

“Who knows what change of heart my midlife crisis brings, but I really feel like we’ve put those stories to rest now.”
