Fans on Instagram were thrilled to see the Wonder Years back together, but couldn’t help but notice that two major stars were missing from the snapshot.

Fred Savage, who played Kevin Arnold, and Olivia d’Arno, who played his rebellious sister Karen Arnold, did not appear.

In the comments, several Wonder Years viewers pointed out the missing actors, noting that it wasn’t exactly the same thing.

“So incomplete without Fred,” wrote one fan.

“Where is Olivia d’Abo?” another wondered.

“Fred Savage missing…,” noted a third commenter.

Fred has mostly avoided the spotlight since a 2022 exposé revealed allegations of misconduct against him on set.

Danica, who posted the photo, made no reference to her co-stars’ disappearance.

“I mean, come on! It’s so good to be with my Wonder Years family this weekend! Sure, we’ve all seen each other over the years (I only saw Dan and Josh last month, actually!), but we noticed this group in particular hadn’t been together for over 20 years…! [shocked emoji]”, she captioned the post.

The cast attended the Fan Boy Expo together in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Jason, 52, commented: “My TWY family is so much fun catching up! I’m sure we’ll all be posting some fun things from the weekend!”

LOVING IT

Fans in the comments were thrilled to see the cast together, even without some stars.

“Wonder Years is one of the best shows of all time! I love that you guys still get together with the cast,” one person posted.

“So fabulous!! So nostalgic,” wrote a second.

Wonder Years Awards

The Wonder Years premiered in 1988 to great success. The show, starring Fred Savage, Josh Saviano, Danica McKellar, Dan Lauria, Jason Hervey, Allison Mills and Olivia d’Abo, ran until 1993. During its time on the air, it was nominated for several awards.

Here’s a look at all the wards The Wonder Years was nominated for:

  • Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series

  • People’s Choice Award for Favorite Young Actor
  • Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series
  • TCA Award for Best Achievement in a Comedy

THE FALL OF FRED

Fred was directing the 2022 Wonder Years reboot when he was abruptly fired following allegations of misconduct, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

When the allegations surfaced, the actor was preparing to direct his ninth episode of the ABC show.

A group of six female crew members came together to speak out against him.

They sent a complaint to Disney and spoke with an HR executive about concerns they had about the star’s conduct toward several women on production.

“To their credit, I was contacted within hours,” a member of the group told the Hollywood Reporter.

A spokesperson for Disney’s 20th Television cited “allegations of inappropriate conduct” as the reason for Fred’s firing, but did not elaborate.

Days later, another report emerged claiming that sources close to the star told Page Six that Fred was “doing a lot of self-reflection.”

According to the outlet, a source said Fred “knows he can be a jerk sometimes.”

After the report was released, several women who reported Fred spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about what specific issues prompted them to come forward.

“The other women and I feel like people need to know what the mistake was,” one said.

She noted that Fred has faced accusations before, citing a 1993 complaint from a customer of The Wonder Years.

She sued Fred, just 16 at the time, for sexual harassment, but the case was later settled.

A female crew member from The Grinder, which aired on Fox, also sued Fred, alleging that he “constantly hurled profanities” at female employees and yelled and hit her during a costume fitting.

That case was also resolved.

Fred has denied any wrongdoing in both cases and has had a long career, appearing on Boy Meets World, Black-ish, The Conners, Modern Family and 2 Broke Girls, as well as other series.

Women who worked on The Wonder Years reboot claimed Fred would turn on a dime.

“Your eyes would die,” one told THR.

Another said that Fred didn’t behave that way in front of the show’s actors or executives.

“They all see his absolutely perfect, best face,” she said at the time, adding that he showed his darker side to “below-the-line employees who have no power.”

Complaints from female employees ranged from verbal harassment to an alleged assault on a former crew member.

Fred responded to the allegations in a statement to THR.

“Since the age of 6, I have worked on hundreds of sets with thousands of people and have always strived to contribute to an inclusive, safe and supportive work environment,” he began.

“It’s devastating to know that there are coworkers who feel like I haven’t achieved these goals. While there are some reported incidents that absolutely did not happen and could not have happened, anyone who feels hurt or offended by my actions is one person too many.”

Fred continued, “I will work to address and change any behavior that has negatively impacted anyone, as nothing in this world is more important to me than being a coworker, friend, husband, father, and supportive person.”
