FANS were shocked to learn that SyFy has officially canceled Reginald The Vampire, a beloved horror comedy based on the book series by Johnny B. Truant.
The cancellation isn’t the only one on the horizon, as viewers wait to find out if another fan-favorite horror series will return.
Reginald the Vampire, also known as Reginald, debuted on October 5, 2022.
In January 2023, the series was renewed for a second season, which premiered on May 8, 2024.
The protagonist of the series, Reginald Andres, was played by Jacob Batalon.
Batalon is best known for his portrayal of Ned Leeds in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The change comes just days after the series aired the finale of the second season, on July 10.
The show’s cancellation provoked mixed reactions on social media, with some viewers even commenting “have a good trip”.
“Have a good trip. The show was rubbish,” one X user commented.
“It wasn’t very good haha, I only watched half of the first season and thought, meh, it’s not for me,” wrote another.
One user even wrote, “…maybe Gen Z actually liked it, in which case I’m sad for their fans!”
Reginald isn’t the only show up for grabs either, which leaves some fans divided over which series to root for.
SyFy viewers are anxiously awaiting the fate of another beloved horror comedy, Chucky.
Chucky, shared by SyFy and USA Networks, follows the cult-favorite killer doll as he commits a series of murders in Hackensack, New Jersey.
The series just aired its season three finale in May, and so far, neither network has revealed whether a fourth season is in the works.
Chucky fans took to social media to express their thoughts, trying to get the show’s producers and network heads to renew the show.
“What kind of society would we be if we didn’t #RenewChucky?” tweeted one user.
“Chucky is the ONLY show I watch on @SYFY and @USANetwork #RenewChucky,” another user commented.
“Come on, @SYFY: do the right thing and #RenewChucky,” another user tweeted.
So far, SyFy has two shows confirmed to premiere in the coming months, including SurrealEstate, which has been renewed for a third season, and Revival, a new horror drama.
Although Reginald the Vampire will not return, Chucky is still TBD.
