MINDY Cohn has announced that the Facts of Life reboot is no longer happening, blaming an unnamed co-star for her death.

The actress didn’t hold back, slamming a co-star who she claims she considered a friend in a hard-hitting interview.

Mindy, 58, appeared on SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live this week, opening up about the reboot of The Facts of Life.

During her interview, she reminded hosts Jeff Lewis, Michael Hitchcock and Shane Douglas that the show was resurrected as one of the specials in Norman Lear and Jimmy Kimmel’s Live in Front of a Studio Audience series.

“They did one of Diff’rent Strokes and Facts of Life and after that, Norman Lear, who’s no longer with us, when he was still alive, called all of us and said, ‘I knew you guys were still popular, but holy hell .The show’s response.

“And basically there was a roundtable with Octavia Spencer, Amy Poehler and Jennifer Aniston where everyone said, ‘Yes, our parents grew up on All in the Family, but we grew up on Facts of Life,’” she said.

“This is the Norman Lear sitcom we love. And we had all never talked about it, but we all started to consider it a little bit.”

The Palm Royale actress claimed, however, that a “greedy bitch” in the original cast led to the show’s downfall.

“What happened was not cut,” she said.

“There was drama.”

Mindy went on to say that one of her co-stars “went behind our backs” and tried to make a separate deal for a spinoff “just for her.”

The news left the cast devastated.

“I’m just saying that it was because of a friendship and brotherhood of 40 years, there was [a] wave of emotion around it,” she continued.

Michael chimed in: “There’s always a greedy idiot.”

Mindy responded, “You know what, Michael Hitchcock?

She added that the drama led to a huge disagreement, although the tide has turned somewhat.

“We do not [speak] for a while and now we do it, but it was definitely… it was an ouch,” she shared.

Mindy assured the show’s hosts that the reboot is “very dead,” adding that there is little desire from the Facts of Life cast to work together again.

“Some people can’t get over it, they don’t want to get over it,” she explained.

“We’re not that united. Let me put it this way. We were united for 40 years by not talking about each other, by not doing dirty things, not, you know, all for one, one for all. And this kind of destroyed that , which is very sad.”

WHO MADE THIS?

Mindy declined to reveal which of her co-stars she was talking about, but hinted that it wouldn’t be hard to find out.

“I’m not going to deny or confirm,” she said.

“What’s really sad. But what we were talking about earlier, you know, over coffee, is that some people are so desperate for money or fame that it drives them to do things that for me, I guess, I’m still not so tired. It shocks me,” she said.

“Are you going to do this for the money or to be famous? It always scares me that people do that. Throw friendships, deep, true friendships, under the bus for a dollar.”

THE FACTS ARE BACK

The Facts of Life reboot was announced in 2021, with great enthusiasm from fans.

The original show aired from 1979 to 1988 and became one of the longest-running comedies of the 1980s.

Jennifer Anniston played Blair in the live episode.

“The reason I wanted to be a part of this was because… just two words: Norman Lear. [I] grew from everything he did,” she said in an interview.

The Friends star admitted that performing in front of a live audience was a challenge, noting that it had been a while since she had done so.

Jennifer admitted this made her “nervous,” adding, “And I like being nervous.”

Ann Dowd played Mrs. Garrett, while Kathryn Hahn signed on to play Jo.

Gabrielle Union took on the role of Tootie and Allison Tolman played Natalie.

Lisa Whelchel, who played Blair in the original show, appeared at the end of Live in Front of a Studio Audience, impressing fans with her youthful appearance.

The reboot was announced after the live special with plans for Mindy, Lisa and Kim Fields to make cameos.

Norman approached the trio — the only surviving cast members other than Nancy McKeon — if they were interested in a reboot, according to TV Line.

“We had never talked about it, but we all started to consider it a little,” she said.

“We hired a writer and the four of us got together on Zooms.”

Unfortunately, fans will never know what they have planned for the show.
