The SVU actress was stopped by a girl while filming one of the last episodes of season 25.

On April 10, Mariska, 60, was on set in New York when a little girl ran up to her.

Because she was wearing her police badge, the girl thought she was a real police officer.

She did not see the cameras, camera crew or other actors on set, including Ice-T, as she was visibly upset.

The girl was separated from her mother at the Anne Loftus playground in Fort Tryon Park, a source said. People.

So, she went to Mariska for help.

As a mother herself, the actress agreed to help and stopped production for 20 minutes to help mother and daughter find each other.

They finally did and Mariska comforted them both before returning to work.

Mariska has played Detective Olivia Benson on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit since 1999, eventually being promoted to captain.

MAKING HISTORY

Olivia Benson became the longest-running character on a primetime drama series in January when SVU aired its historic 25th season on NBC.

Mariska I spoke to us at the time about the progress of the show and her character.

“We’re on a parallel journey,” she said.

“There’s one thing: WWOBD, ‘What Would Olivia Benson Do?’ The fans were always talking about it, and one day it hit me.”

“I also have those moments where I kind of fall into it. If there’s a crisis, I just take it on and lead like that. Being strong and fearless. It’s kind of the perfect feminist story,” she concluded.

And Mariska was very strong and fearless when she helped the distraught girl.

She went on to say that she can’t believe it’s been 25 seasons, but then said she can’t see it any other way.

“I can’t imagine the end of the series and I can’t imagine not going on this journey with my cast, my team,” Mariska said.

SVU was renewed for a historic 26th season before 25 had even started filming.

FAMILY MATTER

Mariska showed how important family is to her when she brought two of her children to an important event.

She spoke at a sexual violence conference for Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Mariska gave a speech on behalf of the Joyful Heart Foundationthe company she founded.

According to NBC. withthe foundation “works on projects and initiatives related to domestic violence, trauma and sexual assault.”

One of the key components of Joyful Heart is the End the Backlog campaign, which “identifies and tests hundreds of thousands of untested rape kits in evidence rooms and laboratories across America.”

After her speech, Mariska and her children — Aug. 17, and Amaya, 12 — helped her light up the teal Empire State Building.

They posed for photos and helped with lighting just an hour after New York was rocked by an earthquake.

Mariska shares her children, including Andrew, who was not present, with her husband, Peter Hermann.
