9-1-1: LONE Star’s Rob Lowe, 60, has teased the show’s next season as the hit drama series has been delayed due to the writers’ strike.
The Outsiders star revealed that Season 5 “feels like the end of an era,” leaving fans to believe he just “confirmed” the show’s cancellation.
In an interview with VarietyRob Lowe got candid about the upcoming season of 9-1-1: Lone Star.
In discussion with the publication, Rob said he feels season 5 could be the final one.
“We all went into it knowing it was going to be the last season, so that affected everything we did,” Rob told the outlet.
“We really wanted to show everyone what is still possible on network television if people have the desire to do it.
“It seems like it’s probably the end of an era of a certain kind – well, it doesn’t.
“It’s the end of an era of a certain type of show that we’ve had the opportunity to do, and I think they’re great,” continued Rob.
“We wanted to champion the value of programs like this, and I think we did a really good job.”
After the interview, fans rushed to social media to share their thoughts.
“So Rob Low basically confirmed that 911 Lone Star has been cancelled,” said one X user.
“I love 911 Lone Star!! I’ve been waiting for it to come back since the strike and it’s driving me crazy! I’m not sure what I’ll do if they cancel it,” wrote another.
“No, please don’t cancel this show!!! Great show and great cast,” said a third.
The show was postponed due to the writers’ strike last year.
In May of this year, Fox Entertainment CEO Rob Wade gave fans an update on the show’s upcoming season.
“Lone Star wasn’t scheduled this year because of the strike, and we’re really looking forward to getting it back in the autumn,” Rob revealed to Deadline.
“We’re excited about the new season. We’ll see how it goes, as always, and then make decisions about the future of the franchise.”

It is not confirmed whether Jim will remain in the role of Judd Ryder for the entire season.
