DANGER! fans were left in shambles again after reliving a competitor’s Olympic-proportion failure on Wednesday.
The iconic game show reshared the early 2024 blunder, asking fans to pick their favorite moment from season 40.

The Instagram post came as fans awaited the new season during the show’s annual summer break.
The post featured a slideshow of various moments from the show and failures from last year.
The caption read: “And the next category is… Favorite moment from the show Which of these is your favorite from S40? Vote below.”
The decision was nearly unanimous, as nearly all commentators selected the fourth slide, in which contestant Deb Bilodeau confused male and female Olympians.

“How do you confuse Mary Lou Retton and Scotty Hamilton?? Best moment, for sure!”, said one comment.
“Mary Lou Retton made me cry laughing!” another fan agreed.
“Poor Scott Hamilton. LOL!” wrote a third.

The glitch was reposted because America is currently caught up in the Olympic spirit.
However, it initially aired in February 2024 and went viral even then as it is undoubtedly one of the books.
Deb Bilodeau was competing in the Champions Wildcard tournament – which they won – but stumbled badly on the $400 “40 Years in 1984” clue.
As the camera panned into the frame, a youthful-looking Scott Hamilton at the 1984 Olympics was displayed on the screen.
Competitors had to guess which American won gold at the Winter Olympics with a four-and-a-half minute program of triple jumps.
Bilodeau beat his opponents on Jeopardy! clue and replied, “Who is Mary Lou Retton?”
No one else showed up, prompting host Ken Jennings to reveal the correct answer: “Who is Scott Hamilton?”

Deb covered her mouth in embarrassment and exclaimed, “Sorry!”
Mary Lou Retton is a retired American gymnast who, in Deb’s defense, won gold at that year’s Olympics.
During the interview segment in the same game, Deb went so far as to address her mistake.
Deb apologized to the skateboarding legend for the embarrassing faux pas and explained that they lost their glasses before filming.
“I apologize to Scott Hamilton. I lost my glasses the day before I came here,” Bilodeau shared.
“My boyfriend was trying to convince me to buy glasses here, so there’s that.”
When the clip was first posted to Jeopardy’s Instagram, Hamilton himself intervened and was a good sport about the confusion.
He commented on the post: “It was the hair, wasn’t it?”
The 41st season of Jeopardy! Premieres on September 9, 2024.
