Throughout today’s game show, Elly got a few clues right, often having spells where she repeatedly solved clues incorrectly.

Elly was at -$800 at the time of Final Jeopardy!

While Nam entered Final Jeopardy! at $28.2K, and Marko had $14.7K.

Because Elly had negative value, she was not allowed to participate in Final Jeopardy!

According to a Jeopardy! rule, contestants with $0 or less in the last round cannot compete in Final Jeopardy!

Nam was crowned champion at the end of the game, despite answering the clue in the last round wrong.

He finished Jeopardy! with $26,299.

However, Marko came in second place, taking home $1,199.

He spent most of his winnings on Final Jeopardy!, which he lost after getting the clue wrong in the last round.

Although Nam won Jeopardy! fans couldn’t get over how poorly Elly played tonight.

‘SO SAD FOR HER’

Nam chimed in on Reddit to defend Elly, revealing why she got into trouble on Monday’s show.

“Elly forgot to put her glasses on due to stress at the end of the game, which was a deeply unfortunate disadvantage for her, which I was very sad to learn about at half-time,” he wrote.

One fan offered their sympathies to Elly, commenting under Nam’s comment: “Congratulations! You and Marko played very well today.

I loved Elly and I’m so sad she didn’t get to see the painting. I hope they get her back for a second chance!”

Danger! guest hosts

Since Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek died in November 2020, the beloved game show has continued with several guest hosts in 2021 to the present day:

Elly isn’t the first player to fall on hard times on the game show.

GAME SHOW MISTAKES

In October 2022, Jack Weller appeared with a wrong Barnburner guess in the category “Plurals that don’t end in S.”

The clue simply said: “Moose” and he replied: “What are meese?”

Host Ken Jennings, 49, responded with an audible laugh, scolding: “No, Jack!”

Another contestant correctly knew that the plural of “Moose” was still “Moose.”

One fan tweeted at the time: “You guys should really watch Jeopardy! Because this guy showed up to say that the plural of Moose is Meese.”

Another wrote: “WHAT ARE MEESE OMG. The best wrong answer since ‘What’s a hoe?'”
